Post-Game Talk: Those probably *are* boos, Joe!

The worst part of this team is their self-evaluation. And Joe.
Not a knowledgeable fan relatively speaking but the Rangers on the top lines across the board have all had down years. Even their top defensemen have taken a step back. And Igor has followed suit

Will Cuylle is quite the exception. Theres a few more pleasant surprises but its scarry how quick collectively the team has fallen

I pray that the Gods will look out for the Rangers because thats the only way this team can win the Cup

Perrault set up Brodzinski twice with Grade A chances on the first PP of the game. If he’s setting up Panarin there, it’s a goal. Hell, even Zibanejad or Trocheck probably could have buried one of those two chances.

J. Miller-Lafreniere-Panarin-Perreault-Fox
Zibanejad-Cuylle-Trocheck-Kreider-K. Miller

Try those PP units. If it doesn't work, trying swapping Cuylle and Laf. Something's gotta give eventually.

Just my opinion, but you can't trade Miller until you see what he looks like in a competent defensive scheme. He's taken a huge step back under this assclown coaching staff. Every D man on the roster has...obviously not a coincidence. If Miller doesn't take some major strides with some real coaching, then you can revisit this conversation.
the scheme doesnt cause narcolepsy on the ice tho.

Miller wows you with that laser goal he scored...and makes you drive your head through a wall with that awful turnover in the 3rd.Thats not a coaching issue,it's a player issue
"We told K'Andre, when you get the puck in your own end and your teammates are flying the zone, flip it into the slot. ideally when there are two opposing team players standing around unguarded. In hindsight, it wasn't the best guidance. i think we need to huddle on that one and come up with something else".

I've only seen the highlights. Why was there no celebration after the Miller goal? They all stand around like they're at a wake. Was it a crazy long shift or something?

This team is fighting for their playoff lives and they looked like they were playing a mid November game.

No intensity. No passion. Careless with the puck. Lazy plays that kill momentum. The PP? Where has that gone? I'm not even talking about a top 10 PP, give me top 15 efficiency.

Drury, or whoever is the GM after the season, has a LOT of work to do this summer.

Same with the new coach.

We should definitely get rid of panarin and not the dumb slob coach who can't get the rest of the team in line.

He was great last night, probably his best game of the year. Dragged Faber along with him multiple times and even when he didn't make the best decision with the puck on his stick, it's because he decided to throw a pretty good chance on net himself, nothing wrong with that. At ES, he was basically flawless (hated his shot selection on the 5v3, but it's hardly a blemish on what was a spectacular effort otherwise.)

His issues have never been the RS (where he leads the team in scoring since he's been here by a lot) it's the playoffs where he's 4th since he's been here and would be 5th had Trocheck been here for all 3 runs.

A big part of that is that he doesn't play the way he did last night. PS Panarin is a perimeter low percentage shot/pass spamming machine which is default mode for him when he starts to panic. He doesn't work get the puck into those areas. I totally understand that it's harder, but that doesn't excuse the lack of trying in lieu of what end up being net negative plays. I forget who said it last night, but someone tried to absolve him for his playoff ineptitude because the team hasn't been very good at offense but that argument carries no weight because

A. He's been the top paid winger in the league since he signed his contract (until next year.) At 11.6 million, the expectation should be elite production.

B. He's been out produced by other guys who get basically identical usage.

f*** Laviolette, the dumb slob should go.

Dumb slob is not responsible for Panarin's playoff failures. Those are on Artemi.

Analytics probably would say we played a good game but some of the turnovers and lazy plays are absolutely egregious. Trocheck was f***ing horrendous in that game, I didnt even smile when he scored the OT goal. K'Andre too. That was a game that makes me want to trade both of them. K'Andre is so lucky he got tripped up when he turned the puck over on the PP before our 5 on 3. WTF was he doing just slowly gliding and stickhandling toward the high forward? Housley masterclass.

2 for 41 on the PP. Putrid. Probably the main reason we will miss the playoffs if we do. You can correlate that stretch of ineptitude with at least 5 points we've missed out on down the stretch. We should be nipping at Ottawa's heels if anything. Crazy to me that Mika and Trocheck are on PP1. Gabe and Othmann should've been double shifted at points in that game.

Saturday against the Devils has the potential to be a new low if they play so careless with the puck like they did last night.

We cant commit long term to kandre. Hes a mental midget. Hes one of the dumbest players hockey iq wise in the league. Zero spacial or situational awareness
But we have also put ourselves in the situation where there is no obvious replacement available.

Kreider, Laf, Miller, and ZIbanejad are the most obvious trade candidates but there is no way in hell you can move them all in the same offseason. That'd be more extreme even than the Flyers ditching both Carter and Richards in one summer window.

My concern is that if Panarin stays, Laviolette is going to stay. Coach #4 in 7 years for Breadman is not how we drew it up.

As someone who was at the game, I think it was the shock that his shot scored. The reaction from Miller specifically screamed “wow I can’t believe that actually went in” lol

He looked good. Set up Laff perfectly and laff flubbed it. Quick passing, had a few shots on goal, not slow. He did deflect a goal in but it doesn't take away from how he looked.
The pass looks like it slightly hits the defender and rolls away from where Gabe was trying to pass it. Laf didn't flub it. It didn't come to the right place for him to shoot the puck.
