Proposal: Thomas Harley for Filip Hronek

Seems like Harley is having a down year and the stars will need cap space to re-sign Robertson and the canucks are aiming to get younger , now I would be curious if you view this as a 1 for 1 deal or if someone needs to add and if so what would you like to see be added to this deal.

Harley isn't having a down year so much as he's just not the #1 go to D anymore with Heiskanen being back. I don't value Hronek that highly until I see him be a top pairing defenseman sans Hughes. Don't think Dallas touches this.

The Stars aren’t trading Harley, especially when his newly signed contract hasn’t even kicked in yet.

They want to add a D to the top heavy core of Heiskanen and Harley.

Robertson is the most likely guy to be shipped out of Dallas. A deal around Robertson for Hronek could have some legs.

Harley isn't having a down year so much as he's just not the #1 go to D anymore with Heiskanen being back. I don't value Hronek that highly until I see him be a top pairing defenseman sans Hughes. Don't think Dallas touches this.

Seems like it could work for both teams as it fills a positional need for Dallas and allows the canucks to get younger and focus on a rebuild.

I like Hronek a lot, but until he was paired with Hughes he was never considered a top pairing defenseman. I'm not saying he for sure isn't, I'm saying it would be a big question mark for somebody looking to trade for him.

Based off his play he's a top pairing defenseman on a team that's at risk of losing their 11th game in a row, and 13 of 18 since he's been without Hughes. That's a small sample size and we'll see, but it's the only sample we have so far.

Well Harley hasn't scored that well this year, the Stars would need a win now player, and need to save cap space to re-sign Robertson and a pair Heiskenen and Hronek would be insane or you could put Hronek on the 2nd pair.

A pair of Harley and Heiskenen is immensely better than Heiskanen and Hronek. Or having Harley on the 2nd pair vs Hronek.

As a Canuck fan getting Robertson would be great but I dont think it makes sense for our timeline seeing that we will suck for a minimum for 3-4 years.

Cap space for Dallas and they fill a positional need,

Canucks get younger and a potential number 1 guy for the Canucks, this also allows the Canucks to trade M.Petey for Draft capital, and also allows Willander to play harder and tougher minutes.

This. People in this thread have no idea how good Hronek is. The Canucks are the worst team in the league, the Stars are a top-3 team. If Hronek and Harley switched places, we would have a very different narrative here.
