People are really starting to mythologize Annunen more than a little bit. Go take a look at his last three starts. He even manages a win there but steadily got worse as time went on.

Justus of the Crease will get starts. But we all know he ain't the starting goalie, and shouldn't be the starting goalie.

Did it ever occur to anyone that Bednar also has to be concerned about Annunen's confidence going out the window too? I don't get the impression he's as fragile as Georgie but he's still a really young goalie who's barely made it into the NHL. And as has been pointed out ad nauseam, he ain't lookin' good in practice either.

“In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king”...Annunen seems like Odin about now.

When healthy [insert mando laugh-cry meme] who's our 4th line C, Ivan or Parker? I feel liek Parker would be more effective on the wing, but Bednar's got him centering the 3rd mostly.

I’ve been told it’s spelled “Pokecheck”

Didn't someone say Jussi Parkkila has been asking for Bednar to give Annunen more starts? I don't know how to explain Bednar's love for Fourgiev anymore, he literally doesn't even listen to his goalie coach.
To paraphrase Henchy from earlier, it’d make sense for the goalie coach to want to see the top goalie prospect in more NHL game situations. But I don’t think this is a situation where the man with big hair is pounding the table for Justus to play and the man with long hair just ignoring him outright.

Hopefully not, if they're fighting that situation could get a bit hairy

Tynan and Prishchetov sent down.

Drouin and Wood activated and off injured reserve.

At least one of them has to play tomorrow, or both play and Wagner is the healthy scratch.

It’s happening…

We're gonna find out tomorrow that MacKinnon actually tore every ligament in his knee when he ran into Toews and just gutted it out with adrenaline but is done for the year because we're getting bodies back.

I'm curious to see if Bednar automatically puts Drouin back with MacKinnon right away. It's pretty tough to move Lehkonen off that line right now but you know eventually Jo and Mack will be re-united. It's just a matter of when.

Also PP1.....where does Nuke fit? Again hard to move Lehky out of there. Maybe Mitts gets bumped?

Lehky is literally the easiest piece to move around in the lineup. He has success on the first line and first PP...he'll still have success on the 2nd line and 2nd PP. Other guys like Drouin are more dependent of their environment.

For what it's worth, Nichushkin has been skating in a first-line blue jersey this week. Same as MacK, Lehky, and Rants.

Sigh

Why not give Annunen a start this week? Because I highly doubt it's coming on Friday either (which I would consider the bigger match, despite LA being in our conference). I'm not talking about performance standpoint, just giving both goalies some games because they deserve it, and we really need to not overplay Georgiev this season. And the moment Georgiev gets even a slightly ok string of games together, Bednar can't stop gushing about him (listen to his radiohit today) and will proceed to start him for the next 20 games straight.

f*** off
Most games you could use the phrase that he appears to be in net even during the game.

That’s what I’d do. Mack, Makar, Mikko in their usual spots then have Lehk as the bumper and Nuke parked in front of the net. Mitts, Drouin, Colton, Toews, Girard on PP2 (even though Malinski should be there). That could be a PP2 that Bednar will play for more than 12 seconds

Put Nuke and Drouin with Mittelstadt.
