I have had many dreams where Joe came out of retirement to be our 3C and got like 40 points.
On the other hand, I also had a dream where we traded him for Mika Hakkinen.

Grind against LA as you have and take the reinforcements when they are able.
The plugs will know they'll have some last chances coming up to prove themselves in bigger roles so I trust them to give it their all.

Lehkonen got a goal and an assist on his first game of the season last week. Drouin and Wood have been skating and already played. Nuke has been skating, and based on rinkside reports looks good.
Not too worried. I am worried if Nuke gets caught before actually playing a game. And every single second after that, until we win again or his contract runs out.
I have a feeling we don't need to worry about Nuke until the playoffs. That's when his stress and anxiety will be at a all time high. Let's see if he can avoid the siren calls from the ladies of the night and not go coo coo for Cocaine puffs.

Why not give Annunen a start this week? Because I highly doubt it's coming on Friday either (which I would consider the bigger match, despite LA being in our conference). I'm not talking about performance standpoint, just giving both goalies some games because they deserve it, and we really need to not overplay Georgiev this season. And the moment Georgiev gets even a slightly ok string of games together, Bednar can't stop gushing about him (listen to his radiohit today) and will proceed to start him for the next 20 games straight.

People are really starting to mythologize Annunen more than a little bit. Go take a look at his last three starts. He even manages a win there but steadily got worse as time went on.

Justus of the Crease will get starts. But we all know he ain't the starting goalie, and shouldn't be the starting goalie.
Did it ever occur to anyone that Bednar also has to be concerned about Annunen's confidence going out the window too? I don't get the impression he's as fragile as Georgie but he's still a really young goalie who's barely made it into the NHL. And as has been pointed out ad nauseam, he ain't lookin' good in practice either.

I wish the guy wasn't around all else equal, for sure, but this is what the team has in the chamber for this incarnation. Trading him for shit value definitely isn't the winning move, which sucks.

Did you read what I said, or maybe I didn't articulate myself well enough. In this instance, I don't care how either goalie has performed. Georgiev has been better in his last starts than Annunen.
What I want, is a not necessarily a tandem, but a steady rotation. Give Georgiev 2, give Annunen 1. I don't want to see Georgiev play 60+ games. There's literally Shesterkin and Hellebuyck who do that in this league, and they are the two best goalies in the world. Everone else playes less, because the data says that's better.
To my mind, the Washington game is bigger than today vs LA. Yes, today is a conference game, but Washington is better right now and we are getting more guys in, it's the highlight of the week. So give that to Georgiev, and give today for Annunen, Georgiev has started 3 in a row in any case.
