Exactly it drives me nuts how it’s everyone else’s fault him and Leon don’t have a cup. They got completely shut down on the road that series. The cup was right there and they didn’t find a way. One D-man stayed to the left to block a back door pass as there was a Leaf player behind him. Hopkins as usual did nothing, and the RD man probably thought Hopkins was gonna take him so he backed off. Marner was surrounded so why go for a poke check? Skinner should have let Marner run into him (Marner had one hand on his stick too) as he had no room to deke so skating through Skinner was his only play. The look of surprise on Marner’s face after he scored was kind of funny but that was a piss poor decision by Skinner.
