A buried headline is Stuart Skinner physically can’t play well against two specific teams - Leafs and Nucks.

We’ve lost both to the Leafs this year for basically no reason other than Skinner, and I believe he basically tossed the game there last year too if I remember right. Nucks? I think he’s had 1 good game against them in his last 10 and that was Game 6 when we rolled them.

Shit like this pisses me off because this should be something the team recognizes and manages, not me while sitting on my couch slugging beer. Just stop playing him against these two f***ing teams.

Knob is too busy burying J Skinner to worry about silly things like managing goalies that suck vs certain teams.

Maybe he thinks that's all voodoo or something anyhow haha...

The same media that has it out for Bouchard every night has absolutely nothing to say about Skinner. Never change Oilers MSM.

They also had goalies that made routine stops and didn't lose them winnable games.

Skinner cost them game 4 in the Finals. Oilers should have won in 6
if the Oilers score 2 goals in Game 2, they win in 5...instead they decided not to score more than 1 goal in 2 games cause "scoring is too hard against Bob!"

see, I can play that game too

Either way 6th isn’t good enough either. We should be the top scoring team or damn close to it.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we started scoring when way more pucks got sent to the net with way more urgency.

Unfortunately we categorically refuse to play that way unless we absolutely have to.

On the flip side we win both his last starts if we could shoot even at 8 or 9%. We scored 5 goals on 95 shots the last 2 games for 5.26 shooting%

Why is that totally acceptable but Skinners play is not?
You’re not going to get 8 or 9% scoring every night. Tonight 3 goals would have been enough to win if he didn’t let in 4 shit ones.

The team has a terrible habit of not playing close to their potential until their backs are against the wall. Whether it’s within an individual game or a macro situation like a playoffs series. They always have to put themselves behind the 8 ball before they get going.

Nah. You're arguing against guys that were doing HOF shit in other rounds and were clearly playing injured.

You know, actual elite, franchise players, just to prop up some mediocre goalie. It's mindboggling stuff

Bob is inconsistent but there's a reason he got paid and Stu Skinner will be lucky to get a raise (aside from if this idiot org keeps him because they're nice and will pay him more just because), Bob is an actual elite goalie, Skinner is not.

Sounds like the same refs who did the KC-Bills game did this one.

“Because the Oilers scored with a delayed call, that negated the delayed penalty, but because it was reviewed and then called no-goal, the original call on the ice was a goal, which still negates the original delayed penalty call. Because the Leafs won the goal challenge, that would have also negated the penalty.”
-the National Horseshit League explanation, probably

I just rewatched the sequence…Chris Cuthbert says “penalty coming up… or is there?… Oilers just pulled the goalie”.

No refs hands went up.. Cuthbert just sucks.

so their highest paid players did their job in the Cup finals?

must be nice
And the game winning goal was a muffin that should have never gone in. If you think the Oilers are going to repeat last playoffs with a .901% percentage and win, I've got some shit coins to sell you.

If you’re pumping 47 shots 3 goals isn’t good though. 0-2 on the PP while they go 2-0. We actually lost this one on the special teams battle which again should be our calling card.

It's crazy that it seems like only fans online see an issue in net

Like really. Most pundits will say we need that RD, but it's not like Stecher has been awful. Our standard is to win the cup. Being good for streaks of time isn't going to cut it when it comes to the one player who plays the whole game

Everyone outside the market seems to get it, too.

Particularly the advanced stats guys.

The game winning goal was a 59 goal scorer allowed to walk in below the hash marks and pick his spot. lol a muffin really?
