How the Oilers management can't f***ing see this when literally EVERYTHING points to goaltending being a huge liability, is confounding.

Eye-test? Goaltending sucks
Traditional stats? Goaltending sucks
Advanced stats? HOLY MOLY YOUR GOALTENDING f***ING SUCKS!

GET A f***ING UPGRADE ON SKINNER.
lol, I can't wait for the crying when the Oilers do nothing about goaltending at the deadline

If you can’t admit Skinner is inadequate after tonight I have to genuinely ask for a DNA test. There is no way an unbiased person can look at his play tonight and come away with this attitude.
He didn’t have a great game. Doesn’t change the fact 5 goals on 95 shots is awful.

That’s a 5.26 shooting %

We spend 3 million on goaltending. We spend 21 million on two forwards. In a cap league you need your investments to pay out.

Being 9th or 10th highest scoring team isn’t good enough.

Agreed, I don't see how every thing is Skinners fault 100% of the time. They can't clear the front of the net at all either.
It’s his fault when he lets in 4 stoppable shots and an actual NHL goalie at the other end is making saves goalies at this level make.

These guys are practicing against Skinner and probably score at will. Then they play a game where they’re stymied and it looks like a “finishing issue” because of who they’re shooting on in practice.

He’s not a very good goalie at this level, that is a fact.

This team has a problem with the management not calling out this horseshit reffing. How did they suddenly lose a delayed penalty because of a called back goal? You can literally score a goal that isn't called a goal on the ice skate up the ice get a delayed penalty call on yourself while the horn whistles cause they reviewed said goal to determine it was a goal and still give the player the penalty that happened after the goal was scored.

Did this actually happen? I was dealing with the kids, but wifey was screaming about it

Leon is the best player in the league this season, is that not enough?

Were the Oilers on a delayed penalty when the non-goal was scored? I thought I heard we were going on the PP. Then the Oilers scored. If the play was determined to be offside, we should have been on the PP following the review.

Scoring chances ratio was probably 8:1. Switching goalies and we win 8-2.

Crazy that whats called a slash in the first happened 40 times. But was only called once.

Leafs got away with at least 5 blatant penalties in the last 5 minutes including the dive at McDavid’s legs on a partial breakaway.

The most offensive one was the third goal.

Chincy high stick call, then Knies pretty clearly jacknifes an Oiler into the wall right in front of the official with no call no more than about 20 seconds into the PP. Then they score.

There were 3-4 blatant obstruction penalties on the Leafs in the first 10 mins or so, but they didn’t choose to call those until we were down 3-0.

Where in the rules does it say we have to spend only 3 million on goaltending?

We are 6th best in Goals For Per game by the way.

On the flip side we win both his last starts if we could shoot even at 8 or 9%. We scored 5 goals on 95 shots the last 2 games for 5.26 shooting%

Why is that totally acceptable but Skinners play is not?

They also almost lost in the 2nd round with Skinner in net, against an overrated / trash Canucks team who are where they should have been last year if not for PDO (they never should have made it out of the first round but the Preds are pure trash)
and he outdueled Oetinger in the WCF

why are you so confident another goalie wont choke Hellybuyck-style in the playoffs?

He has a good excuse. I'd still give Klingberg more time.

Yeah, Klingberg "costing them the game" (assuming they actually score in OT or Skinner stops a puck in a shoot out because, you know, breakaways are impossible to stop so it's the same logic LOL), is just a distraction from the real culprit in net

Klingberg has been fine for a guy that hasn't played in over a year
