Been saying that for years. The way their roster is constructed has a lower ceiling than many that finish where they did. No game breaker (Kane), no G that is another level, a coach that seems to love to have them shoot from anywhere and everywhere makes it easy for Bob. Just a team that makes playoffs and this is their ceiling is what I see.
The lack of motivation speaks volumes to me. Rantanen playing for Canes didn't sound quite right to me but I can see what they were trying to do.; but it seems Mikko knew it immediately. Kudos to Canes for recognizing the issue and getting something done quickly. Obviously, Rantanen feels comfortable in Dallas. He has been, and is a big factor in these playoffs.
Talked to my dad about McDavid over the weekend. He's got a HHOF resume at 28. The Oilers aren't very good but he is.
Non-zero chance he's the only guy, I think in all of the 4 major sports, to have won 2 Smythe trophies (Championship MVP equivalent) while never winning a Championship. Lots has to happen for that to come to fruition but it's wild it's a realistic possibility
Oiler's superior speed should be the clincher in this series.

Sort of where I'm at. I've been watching hockey since 2007 so I've seen most of Sid's career and all of McDavid's. McDavid's skating is just so phenomenal it puts him at that tier right below Mario for me. Crosby has the most talent I've ever seen so I usually lean in his favor. I think prime Crosby in today's league would be a regular 140+ point guy
Opposite for me. Crosby is a hockey robot. McDavid is that much more talented.
