Bergy's guy, what does this reinforce about our leader? He makes poor choices, extends the guy...

MT had this reputation dating from way back but you'd hope that he would have evolved over the years... obviously he didn't. What's really bothersome is the MB had to know this behavior was happening and he extends him... I didn't think I could dislike MB more but I do after reading that - both are small minded men.

This clown would never have had a job in the nhl again if it wasn't for the bargainbinster! :banghead:

Yeah but the Neanderthal had a superpower -- he could make the Bargainbinster cry on cue. It's the stuff that begets contracts and extensions for someone who would never otherwise get a job in the NHL.

Tortorella too, yet he's still coaching and doing fine. The problem with POS coaches is when they don't have a brain to match their ego. Roy seems to have a brain, like Torts. Therrien & Bergevin... not so much.

Roy's NHL coaching record looks a lot like Therrien's, pretty much entirely reliant on his starting goalie:

2013-14: Varlamov has a Vezina-calibre season (finishes #2) and Roy wins the Jack Adams. Team is badly outplayed otherwise.
2014-15: Varlamov has merely a good season, team is still bad outside the crease and finishes as a 90-point bubble team that misses the playoffs.
2015-16: Varlamov has a slightly below average season, team is again bad outside the crease and finishes with only 82 points.

Now, Colorado has been a badly constructed team during Roy's tenure but he sure didn't seem to move the needle.

OMG, in sports or even in life. For a team to have succes, you need everybody to feel important about their impact in the succes of the team. These comments feel like it was the opposite in Therrien team. Another thing about the "we are a grinding team" He is basically saying to his players that they suck (its a bit true) that cant be good. U can always question the effort level of your players, but questionning their skills levels is one of the worst thing to do.

There's an argument to be made that Therrien put himself above everyone. He belittled players cause it made him feel superior. He mistreated them cause he could. And for Bergevin to have done nothing to put an end to these methods, puts him on the same cowardly level as his coach -- nothing that more dapper clothes and fashionable glasses can make up for. And the turd who subjected his team to Therrien is somehow allowed to continue to wreak havoc, unfettered.

Therrien, Lefebvre, and Bergevin are three small-minded *******s that have collectively devastated the Habs.

The number of pieces of shit who destroyed this franchise are larger than the number of the Pokemon creatures

MT comes off as being a bully so it's likely true. Terry Ryan didn't have much good to say about MT in his book either.

In this account, where Therrien is dubbed a repugnant human being, the whole toe nail flicking and farting episodes are recounted:

And to think that MT guy is still employed by the Habs.

The rumors of what he said about Max being the worst captain in Canadiens history and what he did to Shaw really don't seem too unbelievable. When multiple players come out saying the same type of stories about Therrien it says something. The same type of coach Therrien was with Terry Ryan seems to be the same one Briere faced and that's concerning. It also explains why things began to falter when Gallant left because a guy like him is who you need to have to act as a buffer.
