Jarom and Tanner are back and boy was this a rough week when it came to former Blackhawks. Right before the guys got on to record new broke that Hockey Hall of Famer and Chicago Blackhawks Legend Tony Esposito had passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. They guys talked about the legacy of the Hawks all time leader in wins and how dominant he was through out his career. Sadly that wasn't all for bad news, they guys touch on former Blackhawk and current radio color analyst Troy Murray announcing he has cancer.



Switching to some happier news the guys talk about their guy Hagel finally getting signed to a nice 3 year deal that if he keeps up what he did last season will set him up for a nice pay day in three years. They then look at what the top two lines could be and get excited that there arent really bad combos. They touch on Hardmans new deal and discuss with the cap all but spent these depth guys will be important when injuries happen. The guys then wonder what is going on with Nylander and if he even has a spot on this team anymore. Finally they wrap up Hawks Talk with comments Marc Andre Fleury talking to the media and this got the guys pumped.



NHL talk was spent looking at the latest contracts that have been signed, including Nurse, Hart, and Shesterkin.

We are deep into the dog days of summer and what that means is very little hockey news is coming out. Jarom and Tanner share a perfect example of this as one of the top post on hockey reddit is how far each NHL Arena is from a Costco (the UC is only 1.7 miles away from one for a top three finish).

Not much on the Hawks Talk front, the team announced the signing of forward Alex Nylander to a 1 year prove it deal. The guys discuss what this means going forward with this team and how some people feel this was a steal of a deal while they argue that it will be Nyladers last chance in Chicago. Tanner talks about the growing frustration that he wants Nylander to work but isn’t sure he is capable of being the guy. Jarom talks about how he sees a lot of similarities between Nylander and Strome and how it might be best to just move on from both. The shift to the other semi-hawks news, former Stanley Cup Champion Viktor Stalberg announces his retirement from hockey and to tie all of Hawks Talk together the guys touch on how Nylander needs to adapt his game to the style of Stalberg.

NHL Talk, the guys address the major news that dropped earlier in the day.. Jersey ads are coming and no one is happy about it. From worrying where the ads will go to which sponsor will be on each jersey to just the fear of Euro Style jerseys coming to the NHL. Tanner takes a look at some of the remaining RFAs and ask why are they not being signed and even makes a pitch for the New Jersey Devils to toss a few offer sheets out there. Jarom and Tanner talk about the passing of New York Rangers Legend Rod Gilbert and the tragic passing of three junior players Caleb Reimer, Ronin Sharma, and Parker Magnuson, and they try to wrap their head around the sudden passing of former Chicago Blackhawk Jimmy Hayes who Patrick Kane called the greatest teammate he ever had. Evander Kane is in the news again as he picks up another Scumbag of the week award, Jarom says not to talk about it but then goes ahead and breaks down why he is lucky enough to get this award again. (14:11-16:24)

Switching gears to Hawks Talk the guys break down the news of MacKenzie Entwistle signing a two year extension that will see him rocking the Hawks sweater through the 2023-2024 season and why this is a great bottom six signing. Focus gets switched over to new players means new numbers! Tyler Johnson, Jake McCabe, and Jujhar Khaira get their new numbers in a social media post that went viral because someone forget to spell check Marc-Andre Fleury before posting the imagine on social. Speaking of MAF going viral, video of him just stopping a 5-0 made its rounds on the internet and all the guys can say is lets go! (16:25-27:30)

Elvis Merzļikins who promised to give his son the middle name of Matiss in honor of the goalie giving his life to save him and his wife stayed true to his word when he welcomed Knox Matiss Merzlikins to the world and had a hilarious story to go with it. (27:33-29:35)

Henrik Lundqvist announced his retirement from the NHL after 15 amazing season and the only thing missing from his list of achievements is a Stanley Cup. The Guys are back after a week off to recharge a bit before the long haul of the season gets going and they touch on the little bit of hockey news that’s out there.

Hockey season is upon us as the Blackhawks social media was in full swing posting photos of the ice being painted ahead of the start of the 2021-2022 season. With Training Camp and preseason right around the corner the guys take a look at what some potential storylines the Hawks might have going into this upcoming season.
