Recently became a Habs fan after a long period of flirting with the idea and dipping in and out of interest.

I'm from the North East of England and I've cast longing glances to Montreal for a very long time now. I'm hoping to come on holiday in the next few months, so I'm following this thread with interest.

Hope you will all welcome me here as I plan to stick around.

J'apprends le français. Je suis terrible!

All the brits I know here had a great time in Montreal. Your accent is sure to leave a great first impression with them ladies ;).

Heading to Montreal for the Jays game on Saturday. Any tips for the day? We want to hit Schwartz', but where do we park? Is there a subway that we should take that would make it easier? Is it going to be crazy?

Would you recommend parking there for access to Olympic Stadium as well?

The best way to get to the Olympic Stadium is by subway, either that or you'll pay 20$ for parking since the streets around it will probably be taken. Schwartz and the Olympic stadium are pretty far from one another, about 8 metro stations there's no way someone could walk from those two locations in less than 1h30.

Pie-IX metro on the green line has a tunnel in the station linked to the Olympic stadium.

But if I would park at the station nearest Schwartz, walk to Schwartz then back to the subway and then take it to Pie-IX for the game and return on the subway after?

Finding parking around Sherbrooke metro for a long period of time could be a little difficult, but you'll probably be ok (no parking signs are all written in french btw). If you're staying at a hotel I'd go as far as saying the best would be leaving the car there and using the subway for the whole ride.

Best 24h delivery restaurant downtown!

I work the night shift and i've found only a surprisingly low number of restaurants that deliver downtown after midnight.

So! Pitch me your best 24h delivery restaurant that delivers downtown (bleury/viger). Extra points for amazing poutine! :help::popcorn:

Escorte geisha.. great sushi

Restaurent delivery at night... you need to expect to eat crap.

Learning to cook is your best bet.

Omg plz let's make this a sticky! I know there is talk of this in a thread called What do to in MTL but it would be amazing if it had it's own lol.

I agree, and while I am a very good amateur cook I still enjoy the fine gastronomy of this city. Can't cook 7d/w man. The point of this thread would be so we AVOID eating the "crap?" that's out there.

At the risk of coming across a tad "stalker-ish", I live at the same street corner, so possibly same building lol, which makes me interested in this particular subject even more.

Unfortunately, I haven't found anything great in terms of 24h delivery, certainly in terms of poutine. For after hours delivery, I usually just go with Boustan.

I've been buying from zesto resto, they have some really good eats and deliver 'till 3am.

Flying through Montreal next week, sadly only have a couple of hours layover at the airport so can't get out to shop around

Is there any half decent poutine and/or smoked meat at the airport restaurants?

How about Habs gear?

There is smoked meat in one of the departure terminals, yeah. I don't remember if it was bad but it certainly isn't a greasy fresh Schwartz's.

Hey all, so I'll be in Montreal with my buddies for a bachelor party on the 24th and really want to catch the draft. Anyone know of any good bars that'll have it on? Thanks in advance.

Going to be in Montreal with the wife and kids next month. Any can't miss restaurants that are also kid friendly?
