Went for dinner with my cousin, his wife and two boys. They live in Perth and are over for a visit to Aotearoa. Haven't seen them in about 6 years and I've only met him a couple of times ever.

So Oz and NZ have quite different relationships with their native peoples. Both countries have people who think you should pretend differences and inequities don't exist, but that's far more prevalent in Australia and in Aotearoa New Zealand we (generally) embrace Māori culture.

It was so nice to hear that they also think that the way to a better country is to sharing it.

Also really cool that they can show up after such a gap and we are chatting again like we see each other frequently.

Felt like -17 this morning with the wind. My dog (pitbull with see through fur) does not give a flying shit and refuses to wear a sweater. I have to drag him away from frozen snow piles while he's actively shivering a tooth out of his head...

People on work chat are talking about their coffee consumption and I'm...starting to worry about myself. We make 10-12 cups of Bustelo in the drip maker and I end up drinking between 5-8 of them without thinking about it (big coffee mug, depends if SO wanted a top up). So the daily baseline is over a quart, frequently over 1.5 quarts. I think that might be too much?

I have two pit mixes and one of them is a complete clothes horse. He puts one his sweater, then tries to put on the other dogs sweater while I'm getting the other into his. The big one loves to lounge in his sweaters...

Years ago when my kids' dog (highly reactive minpin mix) met the clothes horse, she was fine with him after some socializing. The next time she met him he was wearing a sweater and she acted like it was a totally new dog... right up to when we took it off of him. She now gets called fashionista...

I've been up on my coffee consumption for a bit - two carafes out of my 12 oz french press per day. Actually, now I want to go make sure they are just 12 ounces...
