Deano knows how to win a playoff game. He has watched the other team do it his whole career

Canada had booked the flight back on monday. They were so sure of winning that they kept their hotel rooms in Sweden when they flew to Denmark for the quarter final. So now they had to fly back to Sweden to get their stuff.

A great reminder not to look past your current opponent, no matter how much you outskill them.

Denmark with 22-10 in shots in the third period.
WTF happened on that GWG? He roofed it, all alone in front of the net.

Spurgeon had the best seat in the building on that one.

Day 14

SWE - USA 2-6

Zeev 4 shifts, 2.46 TOI

Brodin 22.38 TOI
Johansson 3 shots, -1, 17.31 TOI

Well deserved win for USA. They were better, faster, braver and smarter than Sweden.
First time in the final game since 1934, about time.
Good luck in the final.

Gold for the US!

Took 3v3 OT to make it happen, but at least it did happen.

Sweden takes home Bronze, Johansson showed up for them with a couple of goals and they made it look easy most of the game.

Seems to be a recurring situation since he reached the pro level. Consider my expectations for his next season tempered.

Note: this isn't to say he won't be a great player, just isn't there yet.
Yeah, it's just the way it goes for young defenders. He's fresh out of college and competing with men on the world stage. Not many guys can keep up with them from the get go.
Now he knows more about what level he needs to be at, and can focus this summer on gaining some weight and set his mind straight.
I'm not worried at all, he might need a bit more time in the AHL than most people thought. Even Erik Karlsson started out in the AHL.

Werenski joined the team and Buium became the #7 because of that, pretty standard stuff and honestly I’m a bit surprised he even got a few shifts that late into the tourney.
