The Vancouver Canucks: Great Moments in Time

Posted this one a long time ago before this thread. I got the rights to this song from Rock 101 a long time ago when I had bigger plans to do something with this. But just made this instead. It was hard to find some decent footage of it all those years later.

Fantastic. Love that you included the Bure elbow.

I remember that song from back then. First time I think I've heard it since..

I can't find the videoclip but I still remember the attempts by the Canucks to pump the tires of Trevor Linden for rookie of the year (he lost out to Mike Madano) by circulating a video of Linden highlights set to the Tom Cochrane song "Big League".

Speaking of Linden, Don Taylor was the best.

Of course Cochrane and Ken Greer performed that at the Luc Bourdon tribute.

There are more on there, like wow.
The amount of effort out I got these back then and uploading it on YouTube.

I don't recall hearing that before. I also don't think Bert ever weighed 245.

And the singer sounds very much like Warren Zevon. I actually did a double take. I know Zevon wrote and sang about hockey. Is that actually him singing the song about Bert? Ultimately, no, but it sounds close.

Okay, not about the Canucks specifically, but who can ever forget Pratt & Taylor's epic argument about elderly professional poker player Doyle Brunson, where Don Taylor absolutely trolls the shit out of Dave Pratt.

DT: "What's the hardest thing he has to do, shuffle?"

DT: "I put in more effort folding laundry."

DT: "I played Fish the other day with the kids!"

Pratt storms out of the room.

DT: "Dave Pratt, the first man to use 'sitting and slugging it out' in the same sentence."

And I still love both of these guys.

I remember hearing about this then looking for it to find out what happened. It feels like it was as long abo as it really was.

Trevor Linden's goal against the Czech Republic was just one example of why he belonged on Team Canada (I might be biased but I thought he was among the better forwards for that team - a proud moment for Canuckfans). Unfortunately the game didn't end well (damn you Crawford not letting Gretzky take shot in the shootout lol!).

I thought Linden was one of the better players too. And you're right about our future coach not playing Gretzky.

I wouldn't say this was a great moment, but it was definitely a memorable one.

In hindsight, it's actually insane that this team had that elite of a goalie tandem. A HOF goalie in his prime who was a model of season-to-season consistency was in a legit goalie controversy. It's not like it was some fan/media manufactured controversy, Schneider at his peak was a wall.

It is. However, Luo was inconsistent in big games in the playoffs. You never knew what you were going to get.

One of the things I loved about him is he really would just snap.
Absolutely. Bure gave no f***s.

Two Canucks duking it out. Obviously, I loved long time Canuck Bieksa, but in Dorsett's short time with the Canucks I liked him too. He always stood up for his Canuck teammates. He got a shitty deal in the end with his neck injury.
