I am curious to see what happens with Copp and Stats today. I think it is safe to say the Jets want a 1st for Copp. I think the market for Stats is less just because we likely have to retain for him but I guess we will see as the day goes along

I'm skeptical that Stats is going anywhere. I think his value isn't that great, and that Chevy would be looking for someone to take his spot if he goes. So probably a lateral move. Hence why he might just be the Jets' own rental.

But, since it's just a guess, I guess I'll see if I'm proven wrong

Have teams ever given a shit about long term health of rentals? Unless they're on IR at the trade deadline it usually barely matters I think.

I think Copp goes and Stastny stays. If Statsny doesn't get a lot of attention and the price isn't great they might just go ahead with him.

I think we should keep Stastny - I think he's been quietly very good and useful for us. I just don't know if Copp will fetch what the Jets want. I guess we will see

I think they do if there is a strong possibility that they won't be able to play during the rental period.

Losing a 1st for a player who gets hurt before the playoffs would be a huge oops. Copp's concussion and then being held out a game last week as a precaution would add a lot of risk.

Maybe a conditional 1st?
