Does McMichael go 1 in a redraft????

In all seriousness it's pretty interesting too that there are a fair number of guys who did have some sort of "breakout" and then regressed hard. Cozens and Zegras are the obvious examples from the top of the draft, but even guys like Dach, Newhook, Tomasino, Krebs, Hoglander seemed to have already peaked in many ways.

Trevor Zegras does not fit in the system established by Anaheim. He needs a change of scenery IMO if hopefully can revive his career. He had two great first seasons. Back to back 60 pts as a teenager is hard.

I legitimately wonder if I'll ever see another draft class as deep as that one. Multiple All-Star / All-Star team selections. In fact, in the first round alone 17!! players are All-Star selections (yes I know All-Star team vs All-Stars are viewed differently but it's still notable in comparison to other years.)

One retired HOF'er in Weber already and he was drafted at 49. Possibly a handful of HOF candidates in the first round. That's not counting Bergeron, Pavelski, Byfuglien as well where Bergeron is the absolute lock for HOF.
I actually think 2015 is surpassing 2003. Better top end talent and I think you can argue deeper too. This list below is still leaving off some really solid full-time NHL'ers.

McDavid
Eichel
Marner
Kaprizov
Rantanen
Aho
Connor
Barzal
Werenski
Hintz
Andersson
Meier
Hanifin
Strome
Dunn
Cirelli
Eriksson Ek
Konecny
Zacha
Provorov
Boeser
Chabot
Terry
Debrusk
Gavrikov
Mangiapane
Daccord
Crouse
Blackwood

Banger draft for the Czechs.lol

Parik is trying to become a decent Extraliga goalie
Blumel looked promising but to no avail
Teply just returned to Extraliga
Has went to ECHL and is now trying to gain footing in Extraliga
Rousek is still in AHL but Buffalo seems to have given up on him
Mazura just returned to the Extraliga
Plasek is barely established in the Extraliga

So 2 AHL players and 5 extraliga 'meh' players.

The Oilers turning Bro into Podz is kind of funny as they were both top 10 in this pick.

I hope Zegras manages to find his game again.

It's crazy, he looked really good in his first couple years, and seemed poised to become an 80-90 point centre, then just completely fell off.
I wouldn’t say he fell off he put heavy emphasis on playing a more complete game/defensive sound and the ducks are literally a black hole of offense.

Then he’s had tough injuries the last 2 seasons, but he was prob our best forward outside of terry when he was playing.

He’ll be fine…. Hopefully Anaheim moves on from Cronin before zegras because of a team does get zegras, they are going to end up with a steal of a talent.

Still very disappointing that the Avs had the best odds in two draft lotteries and dropped to 4th both times.

Could have had a multi cup run if they weren't saddled with Byram and what's his name.

This was the draft talked about as the greatest USA group ever. Hughes, Zegras, and Caufield drew all the hype and they ended up perfectly fine. There were discussions about the other players getting less recognition because of those 3. Boldy ended up fine but Turcotte didn't progress as expected.

It still was a good draft for the Americans. They had Vlasic, Pinto, and Brink go in the 2nd round also.

Not many Stanley cups on this list yet compared to 2003. Wonder who will be the next guy to win one?

Can't be that bad, I remember the other day being told emphatically by a poster that Alex Vlasic was #2 over Seider and Boldy, without a doubt. :sarcasm:

A top ten that produced 2 super star level players and 8 NHL regulars is pretty good. Some of those 8 regulars may be disappointments for sure (Kakko and Dach really sting), but all are NHL level talent and should have long careers.

One of those common times I knew less than the scouts. Wanted Podkolzin over Seider.

I remember Detroit doing a pre-draft show and Art Regner was pounding the table demanding that they draft Pod. Ken Daniels looked ready to get the f*** out of there because he was so annoyed.

Don't beat yourself up. No one in the Red Wings fanbase wanted Seider at 6. :)

This isn't wrong... I wanted Cozens or Zegras and was furious when we took Seider lol.
