The Team You Forgot Existed

Every year there seems to be at least one NHL team I completely forget even existed. And then when I hear word of their continued existence I'm almost taken aback - "Oh, they're still around? huh". Different years, it happens for different reasons. Usually it's the Panthers or Hurricanes, given their lack of success and lack of exposure in Western Canadian media.

But this year they are not the forgotten.

This year it's the Ottawa Senators that have completely slipped my mind. Probably because they occupy a sort of no man's land in the standings.

I don't really forget any teams, but I'm always forgetting Winnipeg when I'm thinking of the Canadian teams. No offense to them, I'm just used to there being 6 Canadian teams.

Teams I admit I don't watch because I find everything about them very boring.

If the leafs keep playing the style they have played the last few games I might stop watching their games too. So boring watching a team try to shut down other teams all night and failing, and not scoring. 1 goal in like 4 games or something, just so boring.

Basketball I agree. Whenever I watch sportscenter I change channels when the NBA comes on but the odd time I do happen to catch the NBA I'm always like "the Pelicans?" what city are they from? New Orleans? what happened to the Hornets? Oh yeah, they're back in Charlotte again lol.

I think I tend to overlook the Washington Capitals for whatever reason. I have nothing against them and they have really great players. That's not to say I've forgotten about their existence...
