Pretty sure the Coyotes drafted a really tall French kid in the 1st round recently but I forget his name, Lamorique?

There was a comment somewhere that he grew over the summer and he's actually 6'9" now, but I will take a wait-and-see approach on information that comes from the Arizona Coyotes organization or the KHL
Nice not so subtle dig on the Coyotes ha.

It would be cool if they’re just rounding up and he’s actually 6’ 6.6 inches

Dartmouth goalie Cooper Black is 6'8, he might get an ELC as an undrafted free agent at some point in the next 15 months. Has attended prospect camp with Calgary, Florida, and Colorado the past couple summers.

And the Avs never signed him wow

Black’s rapid success has been special to follow. At just 22-years-old, Black remains focused on continuing the hard work that has got him to this point and has high hopes for his Dartmouth Big Green hockey team for this upcoming hockey season. Black will play a large role in that success as he continues his progression and chase the ultimate dream of playing professionally at the highest level.

“My plan is to go back to school and continue to improve until I feel that I can compete at a high level professionally. Most goalies are around 25-years-old when they break into the NHL and I just turned 22 so there’s no rush. I’ve got great coaches at Dartmouth who I know will continue to help me improve my game and prepare me to make that jump,” Black said. “Obviously it’s a huge honor just to even be considered for these camps. I always joke about coming from a small town in the middle of nowhere but I think that actually gives me some extra motivation to prove myself and to show that you can play a high level of hockey no matter where you come from. I’ve gotten a lot of support throughout the years from not only my family but people around the community and I just want them to know how much that truly means to me.”

Black seemed cognizant that he still had room to improve at the college level. He only had one year as a starter as well. And it's understandable if a guy didn't want to trade another year (or two) of college for the AHL/ECHL.

On the other hand, Dartmouth's previous starter Clay Stevenson turned pro after his freshman year. He spent most of following year in the ECHL but is currently leading the AHL in GAA and SV%.

Stevenson was 23 when he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Caps. Black turns 23 in June, so we'll see if he turns pro.
