Hawks have a guy named Louis Crevier right now who is 6ft8. He's slow and lacks puck skills so he's likely not gonna stick long term, but he is the always in demand right shot D with size, so there's a chance.

Hawks also have Alex Vlasic who is 6ft6 and finally learning how to use his long reach. Been a highly effective shutdown defenseman this year. Tinordi is also 6ft6, but he's nothing to write home about.

What about weights? Which of these guys are vending machines and which are beanpoles?

Obviously reach is great, but I think it’s interesting comparing 6’3” 230 pound Slafkovsky to 6’6” 220 Thompson, or somethin, in terms of which build might be better for the modern nhl. Chara was 250, feels like the weight has to be there as well to really make the most of height.
