Post-Game Talk: The summer of our discontent

Thats a different statement than the one I first responded to. Clearly you were stating and making argument that deferral to Drai prevented Arvid from scoring goals. Even though he was scoring goals with Drai as well even in he speciously select sample you cited. Really in a goal/game differential there was none. Your argument was null and void but I knew that going in.

You didn't even check. lol

keep raging cuz you're wrong.

"Speciously select sample" lol. That's about when he stopped playing with Leon and getting some traction in his game you goof. The entire point. I don't have the exact date when that happened, but I'm using March 1 out of conservatism. Likely could push the time frame closer to mid-March if I really dug in.

On a goal/game differential Arvidsson scored 8 in 23 games from March 1 - April 16th after scoring 7 in 44 prior. His total goal production took off down the stretch, and the catalyst for that was not playing with Draisaitl near as much. He got his legs playing with Podkolzin and Nuge.

Not really that complicated.

This season the Bruins fans were on Frederic for being completely useless. The fall off of this player even in Boston this season was pretty severe. He was criticized often this year. The talk of the Bruins fans this season sure wasn't "talking highly of him" it was "where the f*** is he" Before the injury.

This was the worst forward we had in the lineup this playoffs and thats saying something with all the competition of forwards that didn't get anything done. Was a straight up passenger.
he used to play with a “I don’t care who you are, imma run you thru the boards” attitude. He had a swagger. He would score thru his size and physicality. Then it almost seemed like cause he scored a bunch of goals he thought he had to play more skill? And his physicality dropped off. Bruins fans seemed to notice it last year in the playoffs and he just kept up.

The effort wasn’t there and he stopped doing the things that made him loved by the fans. Almost everyone of them wanted him gone.

You know what the sad thing is? Skinner and Arvidsson were healthy scratches with a healthy roster. That combined $7 million could've paid a more effective player to actually help us.

And then people wonder why we complain about a substandard player "only" making $4 million. This shit adds up.
Thank you. Every overpay hurts. It’s by you lose guys like Holloway.

Spending $4mill on Frederic when similar players can be had for 2.5, 9 for Nurse etc. shit right there that’s like 4 million in overpay, combine that with moving Arvidsson that’s a GOOD top line winger.

Every nickel and dime matters in the end. It can be the difference in a cup final.

But spending $8 million for eight years on a goalie who just had a terrible season doesn't matter? LOL. Sit down.

Here come the insults now. You really are special.

Frederic clearly stopped doing the things that even had him being an NHL player. The version we're looking at isn't even one. Nor was he in Boston this season.

Arvidsson kind of has it all going against him: small, wrong side of 30, vastly overpaid for what he actually produces, healthy scratched in the playoffs when we signed him based on his playoff pedigree. Not a single reason whatsoever to keep that guy.
As long we don't have to give up assests to get rid of him. Thought he has a NTC.

The rumoured contract for Frederic is laughably bad. Will instantly become our second worst contract after nurse

A 4th line should be able to do something.

Florida’s 4th line hardly played but for those of you who saw, Maurice had them go out to end the game because they saved the Toronto series and always bring it when they do get to play. Wrecking ball line that did play well against us.

We have a bunch of tiny slow do-nothings in our entire bottom 6. Where’s Kostin?

I backed it up, you didn’t.

“hE sCoREd 3 WiTH LeoN” is beside the point and you know it.
I was the one that found out that 3 of the goals you said he scored without Drai were in fact with Drai, another one was an ENG, this comprising HALF of the 8 goals scored in your specious sample. Which I have to tell you is a significant amount of the data scores.

Trouble is you don't even recognize that the stats you cited are not statistically meaningful as you think. In fact during the time frame in minutes deployed theres hardly any difference in the G/G he got with Drai or off Drai. Because in that select sample most of the games were not with Drai. Get it?

Next theory you engage in is saying that this is a prototypical example of how its difficult in some way to play with Drai, when really all it is is getting the player in bottomsix and away from top coverage. The aspect is Arvid heats up occasionally. If you look you see that 3 of those goals were scored in consecutive games and two others in two games.

About what happen is Arvid has an awkward shot and occasionally its happening for him. Thats all it is. Its like a Tennis player that because of flawed mechanics sometimes has his serve going hot but usually doesn't. Arvid is just a streaky scorer, and really not much of one. Any season Arvid basically has his shooting going and accurate around 25-30% of the time. The rest of the time with his miss the net shots you wonder how he scores goals.

pass on the player in anycase. We're agreed with that much.

Exactly. your bottomsix have to offer some identity. Has to be speed, forecheck, hits, shutdown, something. Better if its more than one thing.

keeping in mind we usually have two 4th lines and around 4/6 producers in our topsix. WE had only 4 forward producers this season, thats it, and 2 of them didn't even hit 50pts, lol
