Disappointed is an understatement. That being said, all games after the LAK series were bonus games. LAK screwed that series up for his team.

I think I rather see us to lose to Dallas cause they probably play better against Florida. Its embarrassing and soul crushing

I would've wanted us to face Minnesota because that was the only club that was even going to give us some punishment taste of what this final was going to be like. its our misfortune that Vegas and Dallas were inept in the respective series. They kind of just fell down. Gave the Oilers an illusion they were better than they were.

Yup, people can ignore this all they want, but we all saw McDavid f***ing tripped plain as day when he was heading to the net with the puck. No call. We saw this one-sided reffing all f***ing series. okay im lost here. How did he cause ga#1 exactly? Ekholm has time to make a pass then fires a grenade to Bouchard who bobbled it and five seconds later its in the back of the net off a breakaway as Ekholm gets walked.

Ekholm's house league attempt at saucing a pukc to Bouchard for the first GA and Skinner chest bumping the puck directly to a Panther will be the two images I'm left with from this series. Might make them new avatars.

McDavid needs to fundamentally change his game. It’s two years now we are seeing him drop in the scoring race and producing less. The slick passes and crazy rush chances are decreasing as teams find new ways to challenge him. His lanes are closing. I honestly think he needs to take a page out of Mackinnon’s book and become a shooter. He had two chances tonight, beside the net, in one he tries a back door pass that everyone in the rink knew was coming, and then passing off in the slot, again, on a 2 on 1. When he had Perry down low- just shoot it. Get a shot on net. The 2 on 1- again, your team is struggling in the first period- just shoot it. Both chances resulted in no shots.

With Drai- he needs to move away from the boards. I know he loves it there- but they just smothered him there. No shot attempts.

The rest of the players, I’ve spoke many times on how I absolutely hate the rush down the wing, buttonhook- wait for trailer. Florida ate that shit up. As soon as a player went to button hook- their D swallowed them on the boards. I f***ing hated all season long. This is coaching. Drive the net.

The replay doesn't show it but Skinner made a monumental giveaway leading up to first goal. it caused us to be hemmed in our zone like the 5X in the game Skinner threw the puck away. Makes it incredibly hard on D to save bacon.

Skinner was the one that started the keystone cops. Watch the game again.

Okay but Ekholm still made the bad pass out of the zone. He had at least a few seconds to make a better play because they were breaking out. The threat was gone. Turnovers are a big reason why we lost this series and GA#2 is a prime example of that.

Like I say Skinner threw the puck away which started us running around and the Panthers smelling blood. Thing is Skinner missplayed a routine puck behind net situation just giving the Panthers the puck. Oilers had to then scramble try to get the puck to safety, only got it beyond blueline and then Booch and Ekholm f*** ups. But the first screw up was Skinner on a routine puck play. he was awful with the puck again tonight. They even called it out in the broadcast he was repeatedly giving the puck away.

Ekholm shouldn't hve been even playing. He can hardly move. he's been a pylon last few games. hasn't been much since coming back.

We did jack squat with our PP at so many key moments in this series. We had a 5 on 3 to put game 2 to bed and didn’t score. So many moments to get a big goal and just chose to play cute perimeter hockey.

You’re never going to win a cup with that kind of a discrepancy in net over the course of a series. Forced to play catch up in essentially every game because we could never get a key save when it mattered early in games. Skinner has now choked in three straight years of playoff hockey for this team and Pickard, while a nice story, has never been anything more than an AHL goalie miscast as an NHL backup.

Shame on the Oilers management for trying to run it back after having it spectacularly blow up every season.

Ah well, the run had some fun moments until the finals. On to next season.
