But also in respect of how long we've had to suffer Skinner in net if there was any pulse of Oilers nation at all they would know the fans don't trust Skinner, don't think he's good enough and few people do. I wonder how many players on this club felt they had adequate goaltending. Bowman can't make the comments he did in relation to wht most fans feel that the club would already have 2 cups if we decent goaltending.

I mean how many years do we have to lose due to ignoring the most salient file in hockey. Panthers were awful first half of the game with so many turnover, even own zone turnovers and giving the Oilers a lot. Bobo saved the Panthers easily half a dozen times before they found their way. it was a rocky start for Panthers who were visibly nervous and only not falling behind calmed them down.

Slot shots were 8-1 after the first period and your sitting here saying the Panthers were awful the first half of the game? Florida destroyed us the first period. Again.

Too many players as well on this team that do nothing. Heres a list. :

Connor Brown, Arvid (too lousy to even play) Henrique, Janmark, Frederic, Jones, lol, J Skinner.

The last year is basically textbook of garbage player accrual. Not one player obtained over the last 365 days made a difference. Panthers go out and get Marchand and Jones and they're already miles deeper at every position. Panthers even have 4 goalies. lol. They have half a dozen forwards not even playing that would be in our starting lineup. ffs.

I've said it all along this forward lineup isn't good enough. The bottomsix is shit and we don't even have a topsix.

Time to reconsider on players like Kane as well. Was absolutely nothing in the final. One point, not even a factor in anyway. RNH got tuned in by Marchand early in series and after that could've been wearing white figure skates.

This is not a roster with clear definition of what it is. McD, Drai would do decently on a team that is actually tough. Not a team of geriatrics.

It's not all on Skinner for sure but I do believe they should go a different direction in goal... He didn't have to win the series but just a handful more of clutch saves would have gone a long way.
I think this series showed how valuable Hyman actually is... He's built for playoff hockey.
Does this loss make Conner more or less likely to stay?

Sucks to be us tonight but at least we got to be in the final again...

No we don't win the cup with Foegele, McLeod, Broberg and Holloway. We might have been closer, but Broberg means no Walman, and he was good. Foegele was better for us than Arvidsson but he's still not going to change a series. McLeod and Holloway also would have helped, but until we have a goalie who can stop giving away freebies, we won't beat a team like Florida. That 3rd goal tonight was horrid. The first two weren't awful, but they weren't unstoppable either.

I'm not saying Skinner wasnt the problem, because he was. He needs to be jettisoned, im just saying we would have put up a much closer fight and perhaps overcome this shit goaltender with those 4. The insane speed, youth and experience from playing Florida before would have pushed us over the top. Bowman and Jackson absolutely set us back.

At the time we waltzed through the west. You don’t need to overhaul the team. Need to change some things for sure though.

Too many passengers period. What did Henrique bring these playoffs? I agree that the injuries hurt and I would be surprised if McDrai aren't hurt, but injuries are a part of the game which is why you have to limit passenger types, we have too damn many.

I don't buy it. but I understand your point. Its bad optics. Be honest. Say we looked and couldn't improve in net without giving too much away.

A large part of being a head of any org is being able to explain things, manage optics, manage controversy. It was the number one story and most of Oilers nation was livid about it at the time. Turns out once again we lost because we weren't good enough in net. Oilers were the better club in the first and come out down 2-0. The way the whole series went because Skinner goof is always going to let in the first goal.

I get it, but he’s not catering to us, he’s got other concerns at that point. Hard to say what he really tried to do. If they didn’t look at all that is heinous.

We also didn’t lose because of that, but it was for sure a factor. The oilers didn’t have anywhere near the quality of chances the panthers had in period one. Shots from the slot were 8-2 Florida in the first for crying out loud. Doubtful you and I can come to an agreement on that point though, which is fine.

That said the situation in net has to change for everyone’s sake.
