They'd also have to sacrifice other players to make the cap fit.Oilers with Patrick Roy won't need 5-6 games
You get outworked you lose the game, it's really that simple.

I think guys like Saros, Gibson or (wishful) Sorokin will look at Edmonton as a place where they can win the big one.If what his wife said is true, the house is already 3/4s packed up and off-season trade request submitted.
A team that wants to be in the McKenna sweepstakes will happily take him.
I assume Nuge broke his hand in the finals, Ekholm was never healthy and McDavid has something happen during the finals (but was off all year). Agreed, I hope they can recover.I wanna hear the injuries everyone had so hopefully they can condition and be okay for season start.
Probably not but they also learned that you have to outwork your opponent to win after they lost to the Isles. The dynasty Oilers wouldn't win a Cup if Fuhr had Skinner's numbers tonight...in the 80s.
That’s a good point.I think guys like Saros, Gibson or (wishful) Sorokin will look at Edmonton as a place where they can win the big one.
Bowman needs to look at fixing real issues before wasting cap space on guys like Frederic.
yep.I don’t want to pile on too much but we really didn’t get much from our stars tonight. Sure the panthers played them well. But drai was noticeably ineffective
I was hard on him but he deserves to stay and get us there again. This is his problem now. The missing cup he needs to add his name too more than a few times.Obviously no, you keep him forever and just don't blame him for everything.
Why wasnt it?McDrai getting absolutely worked in a cup elimination game was not on my bingo card. They are supposed to be our X factor in games like this.
If Florida can win with a 10M goalie, the Oilers can win with Patrick Roy. Quit insulting Roy just to pump StuartThey'd also have to sacrifice other players to make the cap fit.

No we don't win the cup with Foegele, McLeod, Broberg and Holloway. We might have been closer, but Broberg means no Walman, and he was good. Foegele was better for us than Arvidsson but he's still not going to change a series. McLeod and Holloway also would have helped, but until we have a goalie who can stop giving away freebies, we won't beat a team like Florida. That 3rd goal tonight was horrid. The first two weren't awful, but they weren't unstoppable either.Blaming Skinner is like blaming the rain for getting you wet but not carrying an umbrella.
The Oilers have at least 10 players that werent even close to Florida.
Gross mismanagement by Jackson and Bowman last offseason. These guys should be chastized by the fans and media.
Fn losers
We win the cup with Foegle, McLeod, Broberg and Holloway
The experience speed and size from.last year would have overpowered Florida.
I get the sense, sincerely, he feels it 1000x harder than any of us.I was hard on him but he deserves to stay and get us there again. This is his problem now. The missing cup he needs to add his name too more than a few times.
When did I say Skinner wasn't a problem? I'm just not foolish enough to think that he's the only problem. 1 garbage time goal in an elimination game, and you're just waiting in the weeds to slam people who think that no goals scored is also a problem, lol-ing like you won something.wanted? Wtf are you?
If you seriously think Skinner wasn’t a problem, you can join him and his new team when he’s inevitably moved
Good run by the old man.Perry had 10 goals in the playoffs which is his career best. At 40 too.
Thats a wild take. Skinner sucks. The world knew it would be a mistake going with him this season, but for some reason the oilers didn’t.Skinner was never really given a chance by Knoblauch.
Kane is a goof of epic proportions.Kane was probably worried about getting called every time he tried to make a play, but he was still a disappointment.
I’ve said the whole “leave money on the table” thing for years and years, and been consistently called out on it. I get that people want him to get his money, but if he gets 16 or something close to it, he’ll never win a cupI’ll write more later, but McDavid needs to have a real long look in the mirror. If he wants to be the highest paid player in the league and never win, go to Toronto. If he truly wants to win, he needs to leave cash on the table, and consider giving up the C. He was a strange choice from the beginning, and it’s not always best to have your best player be the captain. This team needs a big transfusion of not letting shit slide.
Florida won because they outworked the Oilers. I don't know how that's so difficult to understand. If Florida can win with a 10M goalie, the Oilers can win with Patrick Roy. Quit insulting Roy just to pump Stuart
Perry cannot be on the first line and 1st unit power play as a serious contender.Perry had 10 goals in the playoffs which is his career best. At 40 too. Skinner was never really given a chance by Knoblauch. Kane was probably worried about getting called every time he tried to make a play, but he was still a disappointment.
Condolences from your neighboring Canucks, it must feel like unfinished business when you get a rematch and don't get the desired result.
Hate to ask it, but I wonder if 29 and 97 would want to leave when they didn't have much help.
