Post-Game Talk: The streak... is over! - Habs win 4-2 vs Florida

All they have to do is get that 2C. Demidov will be able to carry a line by himself but he still needs competent linemates. Replace Dvorak with Evans and have a third line of Newhook, Dach, and Heineman? And I do believe they'll be able to be more consistent offensively next year
2c is the key, that and the kids coming back with an additional year of experience, hopefully, with the same enthusiasm and having learned how to be more consistent (Slaf, looking at you, maybe not directly, but certainly out of the corner of my eye)

I really hope they swing for the fences for whatever 2C they target this summer. It's nice having Suzuki and Hutson carry us to so many wins, but whether we win or not nearly always comes down to them having a good game.

If we can get a good center for Demidov and Laine then we should finally have some reliable secondary scoring. That alone should add at least 5+ wins you'd have to imagine.

I'd say even more with having Hutson on the first PP from the get go of next season.

2C, RD, top line W.

I have more trust in Newhook/Dach as 2C than the current wingers on the first line.

Can we get ROR and FF9 from Nashville?

Man Lane and Suzuki are so good. Is Suzuki the best forward this team has had since Lafleur? Best center since Belliveau at least.
Jacques Lemaire had multiple 90+ pts seasons. Of course, playing with Lafleur helped.

If we get 4 roster improvements we will be in incredible shape

1. Reinbacher to replace our worst RD (Savard)
2. Demidov to replace our worst top6 W (Newhook)
3. A new 2C to replace our worst top6 C (Dach)
4. A new top3 D to push down our worst top3D (Carrier or Matheson)

It's closer than it seems, we're halfway there!!

Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkovsky
Laine - 2C - Demidov
Newhook - [Dach] - Anderson
Heineman - Evans - [Gallagher]

defensemen is harder to pair up but we have: Hutson, Guhle, Matheson (top3), and then Carrier, Reino, and whoever is 6th and 7th.

We just match up well with the Cats I guess, 3 wins so far vs them this season.

Slick Nick & Golden Lane lead the way, Slaf not too shabby either. If Newhook could only finish more consistently...

Much ado about Savard but he is not the worry going forward on defence. Too much Math is tiring on the brain.

Also too much hate on Monty. Yes he has had some bad moments, even Carey Price had his moments.

Good W, more on Tuesday! MORE!

Lastly, with 77 points we are officially better than last year! 🎉

EDIT Forgot, Xhekaj next game. We all know why.

I don't care. I'll say it, re-sign Laine. Even if he's just a PP machine now. I'm thinking 6x6. He's an omnipresent threat when he's on the ice. Teams will be less likely to cheat because of his shot.

Won't wanna play dirty because of Xhekaj's fists and Laine's PP shot.

No wonder why there are so many comebacks in the NHL, the trailing team has some sort of immunity in the 3rd.

So just the Carolina-NYI game tonight that is impacting? I mean ottawa is pretty much out of reach and there is no way they lose to the awful penguins. So (barf) go Canes (pukes violently!)
