Post-Game Talk: The streak... is over! - Habs win 4-2 vs Florida

I mean it's not too hard. He's basically just competing against Shutt and Smith. Adjusting for era and teams, he easily clears them imo. Suzuki probably gets consistent 100+ point seasons if he plays with Lafleur. I'd still probably take Kovelev on the odd day he decides to play to his potential but consistently, yeah Suzuki clears everyone since Lafleur
Suzuki would come out with the puck 95% of the time against Kovy. And I love Kovy.

This is what a well coached team looks like...
Well... true. But it’s also more true that this is what the team looks like when Suzuki’s line is clicking. When they’re not, we get what we saw over the last three games. Sadly, it’s not realistic for that line to carry the team every single game. So, HuGo, do that thing you do and fix that second line so it can chip in when Suzuki’s isn’t.

100%. I'm just saying peak Kovalev is a top 5 player in the league (amongst his peers) and an absolute game breaker. But the consistency of that is pure garbage do Suzuki clears

Peak suzuki may also be that.

Hes sure as hell playing like a top 10 right now. Heck, he just went head to head with friggin Barkov and came out on top, clearly.

All they have to do is get that 2C. Demidov will be able to carry a line by himself but he still needs competent linemates. Replace Dvorak with Evans and have a third line of Newhook, Dach, and Heineman? And I do believe they'll be able to be more consistent offensively next year

4 point per game seasons in his entire career. The only thing Kovalev was top 5 at were wasting talent, laziness and being overrated. Fun to watch but an absolute shame.

I don't like these black and white statements about MSL. MSL's in a very tough position in terms of the roster he has available to him and he's trying to make lemons with lemonade.

I don't particularly love him but he's managed to keep the players from falling into a pit of despair over this rebuild and we're somehow in the mix for a playoff spot three years after the rebuild started and seem to have very little locker-room ego issues. Let's see how it goes.

100%. I meant that 1 every 10ish games when he decided to show up in full force was beautiful to watch

I agree with Hughes early on in his tenure. He's the right coach for the right roster for the right time. He may not be the coach when they're competing for Stanley cups but he's what the team needs right now in their developmental stage

Probably the worst 18 goals scorer of all time
I haven't been a fan of Gally for the last 3-4 seasons, but this year, he is doing this with ALL heart.
Soft spot for him now, with his just losing his mom.
That said, he gets bad penalties and I want him to be used less than he currently is being used.

A true all heart warrior who struggles to stay in the game, but he somehow does.
