Good point. Passkovsky was pegged as a playmaker, but suddenly Snipekovsky is scoring one-timers. He's not just reaching his potential, he's rewriting it.What impresses me is that there are so many players that put in the time to get better. But for Slafkovsky, he has a talent where he can take all these lessons and actually upgrade his skillset.
Needs to work on his shot? Done. Needs to work on defensive play? Done. Need to play with more poise? Done.
I would even say that he still hasn't fully learned how to use his big frame. I don't think he realizes that sometimes he has the space to cut in and the physicalness to protect the puck when doing so.One big difference now from his rookie season is the kid is learning to use that long reach and big frame of his that’s his biggest asset his size so once he masters that he’ll be even more of a force out there!
SlafGodsky, SlafKavelli, NotoriousSlafKovSky, SlafGretzsky,Lol... well put. Slafworksky is showing how far talent can go with the right attitude, just like we've seen countless examples of talent evaporating without it.
By the way, however far the kid goes in his career, he already has a generational name. How many ways have we adapted "Slafkovsky"?
"Studkovsky", "Passkovsky", "Slafgoalsky", "SlafGOATsky", "Luke Slafwalker", etc. – best name ever!
I would not put any 'boundaries' on Slaf.Even when he was struggling you could see the passing ability. Again, his skill would show itself in flashes.
The fact that he’s put it all together so quickly is incredible. I mean, I was hopeful that he’d be a big 70 point guy but now I think he’ll be - a 60 point guy next year.
In fairness, Galchentitled-yuk and Kostquitsyn had names that destined them for failure.Man, if only folks like Galchenyuk and Kostitsyn had Slafkovsky's drive and attitude.
I hope he's worthy of being the highest paid player on the team when his contract is up.His next contract will not be less than 7 M
That's a sign he can carry a line.He was a puck retrieval machine last night, he must have extended 10 offensive zone possessions by himself. If he decides he's getting to the puck first he's damn hard to contain.
Mario LeSlovakSlafGodsky, SlafKavelli, NotoriousSlafKovSky, SlafGretzsky,
Where's André Tourigny.
60 points is a nice target.I would not put any 'boundaries' on Slaf.
It appears to me Slaf had hockey IQ from the beginning. His ability to learn and pick things up is really the most impressive thing.. we all knew he had skills and a rare frame package for those skills, the question was always whether he could fix some of the hockey IQ things..
His scanning and spacing habits went from very concerning to top tier in the span of months.
They shaved the heads of collaborators after WW2, how should we mark those who have unscrupulously reinserted themselves in the ranks here like some of us haven't noticed? I see y'all ...ignore me, but I see y'all.
And i'm still feeling grumpy from my Niners losing the Super Bowl, so i'm bout' that action right now lol
And posters doubted the pick while simultaneously putting on their Monday morning cleats shouting CooleyI would even say that he still hasn't fully learned how to use his big frame. I don't think he realizes that sometimes he has the space to cut in and the physicalness to protect the puck when doing so.
What's nuts is that he's going to get physically stronger in the next couple of years.
We saw how many passes Cole missed in December, Anderson before.60 points is a nice target.
Then again 40 goals was a nice target for CC. But we’ll save that for another thread.
Yeah, Cole shoulda had a boatload of goals. It was so frustrating to watch for both of them. Slaf set him up beautifully so many times. Bustkovski should have a whack more points. We saw how many passes Cole missed in December, Anderson before.
Slaf will have many multi point games when he keeps playing like he is playing now.
I'll just watch and get entertained.
Oh I see them too lol don't you worryThey shaved the heads of collaborators after WW2, how should we mark those who have unscrupulously reinserted themselves in the ranks here like some of us haven't noticed? I see y'all ...ignore me, but I see y'all.
I was looking at Wright's numbers this morning, and, if anything, he seems to be slowing down even in the AHL. He is now 32 pts in 42, while I seem to recall he was close to ppg much of the season. To be honest I find this a little sad for the kid, I hope he can turn this around.Wright looks like his mom and his mom looks like a dork.
