His ability to learn and pick things up is really the most impressive thing.. we all knew he had skills and a rare frame package for those skills, the question was always whether he could fix some of the hockey IQ things..

His scanning and spacing habits went from very concerning to top tier in the span of months.

What impresses me is that there are so many players that put in the time to get better. But for Slafkovsky, he has a talent where he can take all these lessons and actually upgrade his skillset.

Needs to work on his shot? Done. Needs to work on defensive play? Done. Need to play with more poise? Done.
Good point. Passkovsky was pegged as a playmaker, but suddenly Snipekovsky is scoring one-timers. He's not just reaching his potential, he's rewriting it.

One big difference now from his rookie season is the kid is learning to use that long reach and big frame of his that’s his biggest asset his size so once he masters that he’ll be even more of a force out there!

I would even say that he still hasn't fully learned how to use his big frame. I don't think he realizes that sometimes he has the space to cut in and the physicalness to protect the puck when doing so.

What's nuts is that he's going to get physically stronger in the next couple of years.

Lol... well put. Slafworksky is showing how far talent can go with the right attitude, just like we've seen countless examples of talent evaporating without it.

By the way, however far the kid goes in his career, he already has a generational name. How many ways have we adapted "Slafkovsky"?

"Studkovsky", "Passkovsky", "Slafgoalsky", "SlafGOATsky", "Luke Slafwalker", etc. – best name ever!
SlafGodsky, SlafKavelli, NotoriousSlafKovSky, SlafGretzsky,

Even when he was struggling you could see the passing ability. Again, his skill would show itself in flashes.

The fact that he’s put it all together so quickly is incredible. I mean, I was hopeful that he’d be a big 70 point guy but now I think he’ll be - a 60 point guy next year.
I would not put any 'boundaries' on Slaf.

Where's André Tourigny.

French coach are becoming very rare. He is kind off interviewing for a future HC job right now because he might be one of the only candidate in a couple of years.

Hopefully, he burnt himself and will never coach the Habs. What a dumb person he is. A real PR mess.

It appears to me Slaf had hockey IQ from the beginning.
There are examples on the internet how he played prior to the draft.
It seems he was adjusting to the smaller rink.

They shaved the heads of collaborators after WW2, how should we mark those who have unscrupulously reinserted themselves in the ranks here like some of us haven't noticed? I see y'all ...ignore me, but I see y'all.

And i'm still feeling grumpy from my Niners losing the Super Bowl, so i'm bout' that action right now lol

We have been to war this summer and we doubled down despite the adversity and a rough first 10 games.

I remember you, @BaseballCoach and @SuzukiSZN and supported by @Pomee.

We were the de Gaulleist of this thread !

And posters doubted the pick while simultaneously putting on their Monday morning cleats shouting Cooley :biglaugh:

He really is a magician with the puck…..on many occasions, he’s got the puck around his feet while being pressed by two opposing players, then magically, the puck pops out of the pile on a teammate’s stick…..we have ourselves one heluvah player….he will dominate this league by the time he’s 22, so much skill and size!

We saw how many passes Cole missed in December, Anderson before.
Slaf will have many multi point games when he keeps playing like he is playing now.
I'll just watch and get entertained. :D
Yeah, Cole shoulda had a boatload of goals. It was so frustrating to watch for both of them. Slaf set him up beautifully so many times. Bustkovski should have a whack more points.

Wright looks like his mom and his mom looks like a dork.
I was looking at Wright's numbers this morning, and, if anything, he seems to be slowing down even in the AHL. He is now 32 pts in 42, while I seem to recall he was close to ppg much of the season. To be honest I find this a little sad for the kid, I hope he can turn this around.

Correlation doesn’t mean causation. But Slaf working on his shot matched the time he exploded. I hope they keep at it on his release. There’s still much room to grow there.
