Post-Game Talk: The Sieve We Know

Where can the Oilers get a guy like that? Oh wait. They had him.

Nah, Stolarz wouldn't even be considered an upgrade over our current tandem in our delusional management's eyes. Both goalies ranked in the bottom of the worse goalies, and Michael Parkatti probably smashing his head into the wall any time he recommends a better goalie to trade for that falls on deaf ears.

Chris Cichocki must have been the main preacher to acquire Josh Brown. God, our pro scouts live in the prehistoric era.

Skinner is the best goalie in the league, especially when you remove all his goals against, absolute stud.

Seriously what has jeff skinner done to make the coach hate him so much? And why is podz always rewarded? I dont hate the guy but seriously skinner can be a difference maker in the top 6 and podz literally adds nothing, just makes the safe play and wastes time

Those open slot looks though. Tighten that up and Skinner doesn’t get a chance to whiff on the 6th goal. So he does have a point but dang to say it out loud….

You would think this place would be a destination for a goalie. Be better than the other guy and viola….vesina time.

Schwartz should be the very first thing that the team changes this off season.
This has been an undeniable fact since the Oilers lost to Vegas 2 years ago. That’s when we found out for the first time (mostly through what happened with the Bruins that playoff) that head coaches through out the league had abdicated all goalie responsibilities to the goalie coaches and they were the ones calling all the shots. Before that nobody had realized the power and importance these goalie coaches had now. They weren’t thought of any differently then say a trainer or video coach. Nobody cared that Schwartz had been employed for a decade with no track record of any success in all that time.

Now we’ve known for 2 years what that position is and how important it is and yet I’ve never heard this guys name brought up in the media. They refuse to acknowledge him let alone discuss how underwhelming his performance has been for a very long time. It’s really bizarre.

Knob liked the players that don’t really do anything for some odd reason. Janmark, Kapanen, Podz, Arvidsson, Nuge..the list goes on. They ALWAYS get the benefit of the doubt.

He's the odd man out unfortunately. I'd love for Kane to come back tomorrow rather than have to wait for G3 because the organization is acting all timid since Gary Shitman and the league scrutinized teams like ours for the LTIR meanwhile here lies Tkachuk most likely suiting up for the first game between the panthers and bolts series which the league (go figure) doesn't give a shit about. Gotta keep helping the precious American teams, hey Gary?
What has pod done exactly? Pretty sure Skinner factor in on a goal for. Just another monumentally stupid decision from the guy behind the bench.

I don't think we have the roster to execute it, but with Skinner, you might have to start playing boring AF LA type hockey. Limit the chances to as low as you can and you know McDavid/Drai can go nuts, but they cannot cheat for offense.

Skinner is that bad that everybody needs to babysit him and change their entire style.
It wasn't even so much we were cheating for offense. Most of the night it was intense forecheck, pressure, and turning pucks over that beat us. But under pressure, and LA were decent enough to cause lots of that pressure for close to two periods. After which they didn't have the legs to do it anymore. They went hard in first two periods. Not the first time LA has done this to try to get a big early lead and figure they can walk it him. They struggle doing that against generational explosive McDrai.

Oilers took awhile to match pace. They didn't start the game matching it. They struggled early with the pace, and realistically with this roster anytime McD or Drai are not on the ice we struggle.
