Post-Game Talk: The Sieve We Know

Woke up still mad as hell this morning.

The only good thing this thread has done for me is helped me to finally put fatf***ingGoalie's remaining family members on here on ignore.

In sports there are moments the stats go out the window. One of those times would be when your GOAT captain pulls this team back from being down 4 goals and does some absolutely LEGENDARY shit to tie the game up. This is a team that you have beaten 3 years in a row, that is now looking at a massive choke. Oilers win last night and the mountain the Kings have to climb is almost insurmountable in their minds. They would all be wondering what the hell they have to do to beat this team.

In THAT moment, as a tender, you have to lock it down. Absolutely have to. You owe it to your team. That's your job. It's your turn to lead. Instead this fat f*** lets in one of the softest goals you will ever see. And has the Kings knowing they dodged a bullet and literally making fun of him in their post-game picture. A true competitor would use that as fuel. Mike Smith would have shoved that up LA's f***ing ass. Instead Stu will probably shrug, listen to a podcast and not give a shit. And we have cuck posters on here defending this shitstain. Tying McDavid and Draisaitl's legacies to this used c*m rag is f***ing criminal.

Kempe and Gavrikov mocking (deserved) fat f*** moustache post game.
They seriously did a team photo for winning one game? Or is this an earlier pic?

That one player is the biggest problem we have. You criticise EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME, except, for some reason, Stu Skinner.

Then when others criticise him you say we have bad management. Like, yes, THAT'S WHAT WE'RE SAYING.
Because again, Skinner is just a symptom of a bigger problem. Once he’s gone he will simply be replaced with another goalie that will be ass. Remember the days of Taylor Hall #1C? Yeah it’s like that. This team hasn’t taken goaltending seriously in decades. And that doesn’t look like it will change anytime soon. They’ve always banked on McDrai winning us a Cup. It’s been the strategy since day one.

I legitimately hate Skinner. **** him, what a crushing loss.
Bad goal. Just like the 4th. But why did we let Danault skate into the high slot totally unopposed and open? The only defense against him was a lazy half assed slash from behind. Shit like that happened all game. Kings players had issues slipping our players to get open in dangerous spots all over the ice.

Skinner sucked last night. So did most of the lineup. It was so apparent that the team hadn’t played together jn ages last night. The team was dead in the water by the second. It’s great they capitalized on LA mistakes in the 3rd, but you don’t win games and series like this. There was no consistency. I suggest people take a step back and really think about what happened last night. Skinner isn’t the only reason the team last night. He certainly did nothing to help the team win, but neither did the did rest of the team until it was almost too late.

Start Picard next game and keep the momentum up. The mains think the kings are unbeatable, kings showed us last night they are the same team they’ve always been. The rust from all the time off and injuries should be gone next game and the split should be ours then we take over the series.

The point is that Skinner is bad and you always defend his play. You're changing the subject again.

So I show my girlfriend the video of the final goal this morning, a woman who knows nothing about hockey, and she said "WTF?, he was so lost" about Skinner but she also said "However, the puck is so small that I don't blame him for missing it" lol but lets focus on the first quote. Even she knows that's bad goaltending yet somehow hockey lifers like Stan Bowman and Jeff Jackson don't.

Yeah he’s not great. If only the smartest guys that get paid millions of dollars recognized it. But they didn’t. And when they finally do it’ll be too late. Skinner sucks, happy now? If only y’all hated the way this team was run as much as you do Skinner.

Some good:
I liked Henrique's game. Thought he elevated his physicality for the playoffs and is always smart with the puck. Maybe time to bump him up.
Walman was strong. Two penalties against were bad calls, but he otherwise amped up his physicality and played well.
Overall I thought we were the more physical squad. We were overall better in the first and much better in the third, but really fell asleep in the second.

Some bad:
Without McDavid to carry him, Connor Brown is invisible as expected.
Hopkins was a corpse out there; good thing he is a great PK, otherwise didn't do anything tonight but turn it over on the PP.
Bouchard with too many giveaways and defensive lapses. Doesn't help he has to play so many minutes.
Needed a magnifying glass to guess at some of the Oilers penalties. Meanwhile Gavrikov blatantly cheap shots Draisaitl from behind in front of the refs and it goes unpunished.

Some Amazing:
McDavid. Single handedly almost won it for us.

Some Awful:
Stu Skinner. Single handedly lost it for us.

He somehow managed to make himself smaller. Like he lost track of the puck and for some reason his first instinct was to shrink.

I get it, it was a tricky shot but, like you said, he tends to make himself smaller in net and he has zero spatial awareness. When you combine the lack of awareness and lack of athleticism, it's a killer combo. When Skinner is at his best, he's just being big in net and letting pucks hit him. I'm really not sure what he was doing on that final goal, it was bizarre.

Without the sadness of losing any major players. The Oilers need to play better full stop, but they should be feel good that they can beat this Kings team.
I mean I hope your right, but I feel like this is 2019 CBJ and Tampa. The Kings completely smothered us for 40 mins.

The next game will be telling. If we get mauled were screwed, If we play better and win then you are right and we are probably favoured

How about that Frederic guy. Yikes. Was high on him but can't imagine he is of any impact these playoffs.

It's the McDrai show as it always will be here. McDavid with one of the all time performances. That elation after tying it up only for fat f*** Skinner to fall asleep at the wheel once again.

McDavid looks up at Knob after that 6-5 goal and his eyes let Knob know he will never played with Skinner in net again. What a joke. Pickard has to start next game.
Bro sure Skinner could have stopped that shot, but it was a complete BS flub so COME ON.

Bouchard is way more at fault for his lack of compete on that goal.

STU battled hard and he starts next game.

Considering he got put on the worst possible linemates, I thought he got better as the night went on.

But seriously why is he on a line with the team's two worst cyclers? You know he's coming back from a high ankle, so his speed and forechecking is going to be shot.

Imo lines for next game are fairly easy.

Drai-McDavid-Perry
Podz-RNH-RV
Fred-Henrique-Hyman
Skinner-Janmark-Brown

Just be grateful the Kings don't have an answer for the top line overload.

Have Kane on deck for Hyman who clearly isn't 100%, or maybe Skinner.
And Kapanen potentially in for Brown, RV, or Skinner.
Other than the fact that Kane most likely plays. I'm told he is healthy and the Oilers didn't want to look like we pulled a Stone.

Put him in

Also side note, kings were near the bottom of the league in drawing penalties this season. That is of course until last night with 5 pp including 2 lengthy 5 on 3 not to mention a bullshit call on walman as soon as we cut the lead to 2 which they scored on. But Cali reffing is a myth right...
