Post-Game Talk: The Sieve We Know

The fking think I don't get is people saying screened shot Skinner could see the puck. Then why the f*** was he in his knees then? He standing up that puck hits him square in the chest. Fk this is beyond frustration. I have no clue how McDrai are even feeling game after game with this bullshit happening every fking game

Bad lateral movement and a complete inability to move his head and/or torso to look around screens. If he's screened to any degree, it's just drop to the knees and pray time. Skinners permanent weaknesses that I guess will never ever improve.

Theres around 8X in this game where he didn't know where the puck was.

The funny thing is Foegele knew exactly where the puck was, got out of the way, everybody knew where it was headed but one player on the ice. Skinner.
When Foegele has better mental hockey ability than you, you’re f***ed.

Bouchard has had a rough season

That being said, I imagine his season would look a lot better if he played in front of a real starter
Does anybody else remember that game where Drai smashed his head against the glass coming off the ice (when the game was over) and glanced back at Stu? That should have sent the message that Drai was trying to convey.

That Mcdavid generated? You can’t throw pizzas up the middle and he just keeps doing it.
Lol- so was there another D man who has played with McD that generated the same offence? I’ll wait for the name. 11% of his possessions are giveaways. Good for top 6. He is in the middle of the pack for giveaways resulting in goals. Shit goaltending plays a huge part. But carry on.

He flat out sucks. He can shoot it hard but can't aim for shit, can't win board battles and flat out sucks. Sit his ass and play Philp or Savoie in his spot.
Yeah, we need stronger players who can physically win board battles to maintain possession. It is one and done with this guy. If he is not one timing pucks from the slot, he is useless.

I can usually handle a loss and move on quickly. But the way that ended, stung so badly.

I honestly never want to see Stuart Skinner as an oiler ever again.

The sad thing is that we all saw this coming (Skinner falling flat on his face). Imagine being tender for a team with the best player on the planet and rocking a .800 in the first game of the playoffs. I would personally step down out of sheer embarrassment. Skinner is anti-generational and is single-handedly ruining the legacies of McDavid and Draisaitl.

At that point Bouchard was at 28 minutes in the game. Nearly half the f***ing game in game 1 cause Knoblauch chose to play Brown over others and then chose to only give him 5 minutes. Nurse and Kulak played 25 minutes each, Walman 19. Bouchard made a lot of mistakes on his own but this is Knoblauch doing by overplaying him cause he can’t evaluate how awful Josh Brown is

I don’t agree, D men can crank the minutes and still not make the 10 bell errors he does. Rewind the winning goal and focus on Bouchard - he literally didn’t notice Foegele until mid ice and then had his holy shit moment - and when Foegele went net front, Bouchard went net side. Net side! When you teach young D the position you show them that clip and say “do the opposite of that”.

And yes KK’s D lineup was beyond dumb.

When it was tied the goal needed to be to f***ing survive till OT.

It's pretty crazy. He still could have played McDrai in the last 30-40 seconds after they got some actual time to catch their breath, but we decided it was time to just keep playing like we were down a goal and completely desperate.

My 68 year old mom. “Why is Skinner even in there? They’re never going to win the cup with him. They should play that Prichard guy.”

Yesterday, I tried to give some good positive juju saying he would have a good playoffs. But… same old Skinner.

Picard better be in next game.
I thought you were drunk when I read that. ;)

Credit that you tried. The positive I take here is that Skinner was so bad, and its only one game, and we actually have another goalie who should have started playoffs anyway. So Skinner forcing hand might not be the worst thing. I'll take any positive after that.

Only positive is that we got to Kuemper. Now we need to play a full 90 minutes and play Pickard in Game 2. If Pickard sucks then play Delia in game 3.

f*** Bowman, Schwartz and Jackson for not upgrading the goaltending.
We didnt need to get to Kuemper. He's a f***ing fraud. Only thing we needed to do was break through the LA system. Half of those goals on Kuemper were pretty basic

His puck tracking, positioning and lateral movement are horrendous.

He was so out of position and so lost on where the puck was, he didnt even react to a fluttering, floating shot.

I'm at a loss of words. We came out flat as fk the first 40 minutes. Nothing new with the Oilers to b frank. We slow start. The amount of injuries we have had the last month it was expected again to be a slow go

But holy fk to come back amd tie the game and to have that whiff be the game winning goal os fkong mind boggling. Skinner was down amd out before the fking shot was muffed. Absolute fking disgrace.

On a positive note this was the best LA has to offer. We weren't even close other then 1 period amd we scored 4. Go figure

On to game 2.....
"I'm at a loss of words..." followed by 3 paragraphs lol

Agreed, I called Oil in 5 and I'm sticking to it. Get Pickard in and we get the next 4.

Why don’t any other d men on the team make the same consistent mistakes he does? What was he even doing on GA#4?

Legit I don’t know if I can stomach more Stu

I turned the game off. Then saw we came back so I turned it on

Only to have that bs go in on skinner.

What a futile goalie.

I’d rather have Ty f***ing Conklin in net

Wonder how the boys feel about that after seeing Skinner let that shit in

Okay so by that logic you can’t prove it’s not hitting him. Ultimately he went for a high cross check and either hit, or missed and it was sold well. It was a dumb play by Walman, full stop.
The only dumb part of the play was he left Danault able to finish the game.
