I feel at least somewhat consoled that Woodcroft/Carle/Sullivan (don't want him but still)/and others are in the mix.

Kind of makes me think Q's side is the one doing the leaking. Again, trying to make himself seem marketable.

Also interesting that Carle withdrew from Chicago but not from us.

Chicago really isn't a great spot yet. Yes, they have some nice prospects too ... but I'd take our guys man for man. Bedard is the only truly "superior" prospect they have, and even with him I'm not sure he'll ultimately prove to be a 1C.

Huh, looks like the Murphy report was just flat out wrong, either that or it’s a sham process lol.

Carle is interesting, not entirely sure how I truly feel about him but I wonder if they’re prepared to give him what he wants. Sullivan I’m guessing wasn’t much of a convo, really don’t think I want Woodcroft but maybe not a bad way to go.

I am leaning more towards Woodcroft every day. A lot of Oilers fans seem to like him still, unlike Eakins. And I think he might come with a bit of a chip on his shoulder, which could be a good thing.

If Carle is going to interview, maybe, just maybe, things click and he leaves Denver.

Downside is he’ll have Terry skating and holding the puck even longer. We’ll be able to do multiple line changes between passes.

Woodcroft had the best Oilers record in recent decades. All their starts started to really flourish under him. Players spoke highly of him too, even after departure. No wonder he is liked by fans (not all tho)

I read, "Wide Search by Ducks", but it feels like a PR move with sharing all these names to disguise their choice. Whoever the Ducks' PR team is, they're doing a great job pushing the original leak of Q basically having a job offered to him already. Q is already set for his second interview while we have just one interview done (Woodcroft), met with Carle, and contacted Sullivan (who has already stated he prefers to stay out East to due easier travel scheduling). Woodcroft should have easily been interviewed earlier than this tweet since he has also been out of a job like Q. And why so specific in differences when the reporting could have simply said, "these other candidates were interviewed: Woodcroft, Carle, and Sullivan."

Dude, this isn't a court of law. We're humans who have brains and we can use our judgement. I'm not saying Cronin needs to be in jail or shouldn't be hired ever again. I'm not saying PV should be fired. I'm just saying it's reasonable to believe based on what we already know that Cronin was pretty abusive to his players and PV knew about it and let him keep his job.

Treatment of players is a major part of the job. I'm not sure PV should be "given the benefit of the doubt that he'll do what's best for the team" when he let a guy who did this (and wasn't even a great hockey coach) keep his job for a whole extra year.

Humans, with brains, using their judgement also believed in Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. It didn't make them right.

You're jumping to major conclusions without facts. You're also throwing the word abuse around pretty liberally considering the amount of assumptions you're making.

Woodcroft I’d say is a younger TMac which is not necessarily a bad thing for this team right now. I don’t know if he’s shooting for the stars necessarily but a solid coach for sure and completely acceptable for me.

It’s also possible the organization is leaking that they’re interviewing Q for Verbeek to do his old friend a solid and they know he’s not gonna eventually be the guy.
