I dont get why we need such a protective halo around Seth Appert to assume the HC role.

If he were put on the streets today, I'm not sure he even gets an assistant coach spot on another team.
What is this "we" that you write about?

I doubt too many fans would shed a tear if Appert were replaced this offseason.

But, that also doesn't seem to be the way that the powers that be with the Sabres view Seth Appert.

Darche was mentioned, I would be interested in Mike Gillis as an advisor and his former assistant Laurence Gilman being interviewed. Ryan Hardy is also with the Leafs (as is Gilman) and runs the Marlies in a position similar to Karmanos for the Sabres. He'd be a guy. And the original Raptor Jesus Rich Peverley is head of player personnel for the Stars.

NO MORE FORMER SABRES and FFS NO MORE FORMER PENS. Get some people who have built things in other places.

Bulldog really laying into Kevin Adams this afternoon on wgr on accountability and saying he thought they should of been a playoff team.

I have mixed feelings on what I want to happen.

I don’t really want status quo in the front office, but I also don’t really want a bunch of internal promotions (Adams to PoHO, Karmanos to GM, etc.) either because then we are likely stuck with Karmanos for numerous years (where as if Adams remains GM and fails again next season, he’s likely to be fired outright and we’d have a better chance at a clean slate in the front office).

I also don’t really want Lindy to be given too much power. A coach should coach. He shouldn’t have the power of a GM in my opinion.

A new GM from outside the organization would probably be my choice. But even there, I don’t want to hear about how a new GM needs time to evaluate the roster. I want meaningful changes to the roster to happen this offseason.

Really hoping Pegula sees the news with Seattle today and how it's being received/laughed at.

Seattle may have saved us from the whole "falling upward" promotions, or doomed us to another year of KA as GM.

I have no interest in Jarmo. His transaction history is not solid at all, and his drafting has always been OK, but overrated.

I'm fine with a rookie GM if it means coming from a solid organization. Mathieu Darche from Tampa would be someone I'd want to interview. Directory of Hockey Ops and Assistant GM over the past 5 years. Has been with a winning organization.
Agree

How many of our issues are really because the guy was a first timer?

Most of the dumb things the GMs have done, have been blatantly obvious. Just because the theme has been first timers doesn't mean that's the issue

I simply do not understand why anyone who cares about this franchise would accept anything less than a full sweep of the front office and coaching staff including Ruff. Anything less is lipstick on a pig and a big F#&k You to the fanbase. As someone pointed out up thread the answer isn’t in the room nor even in the city. Promoting Adams solves nothing including the biggest issue which is a belief that their plan is working.
