This was the knock on Keefe: never making adjustments and putting out lines that were based on payroll rather than actually putting players together for chemistry.

It was always about the core 4. Everyone else was replaceable. How do you get total team give a crap when you don’t feel valued or like you are a part of things?

Moving Brodie to LHD should have been done ages ago. Playing Liljegren in a meaningful way, separating Nylander and Tavares, spreading the scoring, we’ve been saying this forever here.

Keefe has been here 5 years. Hes never changed anything and it takes him this long to see what was painfully obvious to everyone else? Just reinforces for me we’ve won in past years in spite of him, not because of him.

Anyways, missed this game too and it sounds like it was a great one.

Glad to hear all 4 lines rolled and guys like Robertson, Domi, Bertuzzi, McMann,and the whole 4th line are coming up solid.

Nothing like being hot going into the TDL to give Treliving some leverage with other GM’s to say we aren’t desperate and we aren’t getting rooked into a bad deal. Trade what makes sense and walk away from anything stupid.

Feels good and happy for our depth guys. They deserve to shine and get some love.

I think Jarnkrok is the guy who probably gets traded. You try and trade Gregor or Reaves. But honestly, I agree. We don’t need a forward. We need two dmen.

Tanev and Joel Edmunston would be my two choices. Or Jamie Oleksiak

Running out of time, but the Leafs are suddenly 8 points out of 1st Overall in the NHL with games in hand on almost everyone.

Team is firing on all cylinders and playing the best hockey in consecutive games all season.

Their best game of the season by far. The speed, puck pursuit, and attention to detail are much improved. All four lines contributed.

I like each lines makeup.
1st line - Matty and Marner elite
2nd line - Domi looking the best all season
3rd line - Tavares looks better with speedy wingers, McMann a beast
4th line - Holmberg adds a bit of skill, pursuit was excellent

Defence pairs better with Brodie on the left. Benoit adds physicality and pairs well with McCabe. Lily has looked confident with the puck.

Only concern, we need better goaltending.

Maybe give the Leafs credit. They skated, they were intense. I have never seen Marner play like he did last night, looked like he was on speed

I'll give Mo the benefit of the doubt as it was his first game back but, yeah PP looked way better when Lilly was on it.
