The Return: HF All-Time Wrestling Draft XI - Discussion Thread

shortening the clock, definitely. the first round or two we don't really use it anyways. overnight clock, depends on where everyone is. I am in the ATD for hockey and had multiple picks come up overnight and that was annoying.
I can see the point of keeping the overnight clock, but I do think that if you went six hours without your pick then it's probably fine that we move things along. I do agree though, not sure if anyone else does.

I am very in favor to shortening the clock to 6 hours. I am indifferent on overnight clock stoppages, but will go with the majority.

8 hours per pick with no stoppage also sounds good to me.

Expect updated rules and pick order later tonight (Sunday). I will decide on the time and stoppages then but consider what is posted by you all in the meantime in the final decision.

I don’t know why we stop the clock. Just have 8 hours between picks with no clock stoppage.
Because whoever has to work in the morning shouldn't get the short end of the stick if they have to use their time considering a pick to sleep! And I'm not speaking for me, I'm mostly awake during stop hours.

Well folks who don’t always have time to check in during the work day shouldn’t get the short of the stick because they’re actually working and their careers don’t allow for it, so calls for 6 hours are just as bad.

So then let's just leave it at 8?

Usually at the 6-hour mark we know someone's getting skipped. I don't think anyone's ever explicitly had too little time to make a pick through the years. Usually when someone knows they aren't going to be able to make a pick they just send their picks to me.

There doesn't seem to be a strong sentiment so we'll just keep it how it is. 8-hour window, stoppage overnight.

Wow. Had Stone Cold fallen to me. So close.

Interesting to see where things go this year after a 2 year hiatus.
I am curious to see any current guys who see a big rise.

I am glad to get Hogan. I've had pretty much anyone I ever wanted over the 10 or so drafts I've done, so it is time for someone different. I figure Hogan is not hot right now and would have fallen a bit more but probably not to my second pick.

There tends to be some recency bias in these which doesn’t bother me.

I’ll get to Hogan eventually. While I don’t like him as a person, as a wrestler I’ve felt that generally he gets a bit underrated in our drafts.

It's true, and it makes things more interesting that the picks aren't just static. As for Hogan, he has big strengths and also weaknesses. Accentuate the strengths and he is great.

Other than being a fan I thought Reigns gives me a lot of options to build main event with like any face before a certain point.
That Reigns gif is great, will always be the best Reigns related gif. Reigns does have a lot of potential classic opponents that he's never faced off against so yeah definitely room for creativity there.
