Banning inflatable palm trees is soft as hell. Par for the course for this franchise.
Adams tenure has been one of the more embarassing timelines in this franchise's history. From Dahlin's letter begging fans back to the team stopping the salute at center ice last year to the palm trees ban. The palm trees ban is my favorite. It actually made me laugh when I read it. Thia franchise finally brought a smile to my face!

I've stopped watching and caring. I peek into the GDT and usually, I've seen enough.
I'm not supporting this franchise any longer with my time (or money) unless they turn the whole thing upside down. Quite frankly, the whole NHL product sucks, and I don't even bother watching any other teams either.
This organization has killed my love for the sport- one that I lived and breathed for years. I truly believe that sports gambling has ruined it as well.

In the meantime, I hope you all have a great holiday, however you celebrate it.

I've been in and out of following the sport for years. This season, after watching my now local team win the cup I took a renewed interest in the game and seeing what if anything the Sabres could put together. Now, I don't know. I've been a fan of this team since the early 80s. I remember games at the Aud, with the coaches walking past the seats to get to the benches. So giving that up, for me, isn't easy. I guess I still consider myself a fan and I want them to do well. But damn do I wish things were different. But I won't be buying any merch, (rueing that I bought two t-shirts before the season started), or tuning into many more games. I don't know what else I can do to signal my displeasure at how Pegula has run the team.

Cheers, and Happy Holidays to all.

Except you Terry. If you manage to wake up from this decade-long plus nap you've been taking when it comes to the Sabres you can suck a lemon.

I realized following the Sabres was killing my love of hockey. So I've largely stopped caring and just watch my local GLHL team play. I simply can't be bothered to care about this loser franchise anymore. Maybe some day that changes, and I hope it does.

This is almost back to the Krueger finale for me where I just stopped watching hockey. It was collegiate, junior and European games that drew me back to watching.

The future
Had a "what he's thinking about" meme moment last night. i missed the first period. i was at my folks watching my kids help my mom and dad decorate their tree. it was a beautiful moment. I remembered there was a game and checked the box score. then went back to watching the kids decorate.

My wife looked over at me and said, "hey, you look really sad or emotional. is this a special moment watching the kids help your parents like you used to when you were kids? is it the christmas music? what's on your mind."

me: i was just thinking about how frustrating and sad it is that the sabres still suck. I am thinking about how Pegula and Adams have taken something that i love and that used to bring me so much joy and they've just destroyed it. it's crushing me.

to my wife's credit, she was super supportive and comforting. she knows how much this team means/has meant to me. and i am losing that feeling and that is scary.

The one kinda sorta positive thing out of this game -- Samuelsson looked much more himself than he did previously this season. Yeah, there is/was some rust to shake off......but he played a mostly quiet game -- which is exactly what we need out of him.

I can't help but LoL at the narrowsighted response to palm trees. They should have rolled with it, had a beach holiday themed game, jokingly advertised on Social Media that players should sign in Buffalo ... " we have palm trees". Got the team pins to wear on their suits.
That would take humility, creativity, and some daring ideas. something this organization has never shown.

The NHL killed my love of non-Sabres hockey a bit ago.

The Sabres are now killing my love of Sabres hockey.
I can agree with this. The NHL, writ large, just is not as fun for me as it used to be. And the Sabres, well, we all know about them.

I still adore hockey. Just the Sabres product, and the NHL more broadly, doesn't make me feel the same way anymore. I've gotten more of the feels from my local amateur team than I have from the Sabres in the last decade plus.
