hey look, shooting the puck creates more offense than winding it around the boards over and over. neat.

So.....Hank was bored......decided to you the puck......yeah good luck with that. C'mon Hank.....haven't you learned ANYTHING in your 13 year career? You arent any Brodeur, Bishop or Hextall.

Detroit played a solid road period.....problem was, they are at home. Look at the insignia at center ice. Maybe because there was no cheering.........is what confused them.

been off of the forums for a while.... few thoughts with my return:

1) DeAngelo has figured it out. Really excited for the future there.
2) Shattenkirk doesn't deserve to be a healthy scratch, he's been much better lately. BUT with DeAngelo being so promising and consistent, don't see where Shatty fits. That's before mentioning the RUMORED interest in Karlsson (don't think theres any substance to this anyways) which makes Shatty even less useful
3) Buch finally looks like he's into the game if you know what I mean. Not sold on him being as good as I used to think, but he's a solid second line winger
4) Smith has looked good on forward, but his return to defense has impressed me as he's been reunited with skjei tonight. smallest sample size possible of 1 period, but passes eye test and impresses so far.
5) HOT TAKE: zibanjead frusterates me. for stretches he seems like a superstar inthe making, and then other stretchs he looks pedestrian to me. might be my pessimistic rangers fan coming out, but it's just a quick hot take
6) Georgiev has created a conundrum. Think the Rangers need to trade him at the Draft. With his wicked play and the Rangers are going to use him down the stretch. dpn't see shestyorkin coming over to play AHL when he's already in KHL, so I'd say go with czar igor and the king next season. Igor is the future, georgiev will be out eventually, best to get something when value is high. could see CBJ interested or even CGY this summer.
7) hajek has looked really good so far. small sample size again, but im impressed. concerned with ahrtford though. this is now DeA AND Hajek that has looked awful down there and have looked real good up here. cpuld be a culture issue

I think when it comes to Zibanejad we need to be happy with what we've got. Fact is just about every player that isn't a superstar has dry spells, and even the latter sometimes go through them. This is totally normal and I would not look into it too much. He's still got some crazy insane amount of points in his last 15 games

.

Except he may never give us those 5-6 solid years.

You’d think that because I’m so Pro-ADA that I’m aint Pionk, but I actually think he could be useful.

Effectively, pionk’s only true competition right now is Lindgren. I think with time Lindgren will become a better player if Pionk doesn’t continue to develop. This year has been bad for Pionk. But if he can refocus on his defensive game a la Kevin Hayes and rebound from his sophomore slump we’ll be in a good spot.

I always worrry about a guy with poor instincts. His instincts are not impressive.

Detroits forecheck is bizarre. Aggro 2 man but rest of team is very passive.
