One thing that Larry misses (@Edge brought this up the other day) is that it's not just about lottery picks or even first round picks.

The Rangers went quite a few years starving themselves of any kind of pick.

You can't luck out on a star in the 5th round if you don't select in the 5th round.

Smith on the power play is a joke. I don’t care how hard he works. He’s just not offensively talented. But Lettieri hasn’t been bad on the power play since he got here.
