The Playoff Push, Tanking and Scoreboard Watching Thread

Saw a tweet that he is now week to week. Playoffs start on 4/19, so he could potentially be out the rest of the season (2 weeks). Sorry, can only add the pic as Rutherford blocked me a while back for questioning his supposed infinite wisdom!! 😂

Hoping that Minny or CGY don’t both go on heaters like we have, as they have soft schedules. At least they play each other once, so that helps.

JR and Korac are so Charmin soft. They'll ban people for disagreeing, even if done respectfully.

Holloway week to week

we need to keep winning and get into the Pacific bracket.

I want Vegas. IDGAF if WPG is the "better" match up, Vegas is the better team. I want to see David take down Goliath and be in the arena in the chance it happens.

Personally, I want LA to pass Vegas, and us to end up in the top WC spot.

Let Vegas and Edmonton duke it out in round one, and us to only have to potentially play one of them instead of both.

Since Minnesota and Calgary play each other, they actually both control their own destiny following Minnesota's loss tonight.

Could also happen. LA is very tough at home but I think they are going to lose in Round 1 no matter who they play.

This is very true. Also, I have the personal connection to living in LA for a decade, so having the two week beef with my friends sounds very fun lol.
Their road record is actually pretty horrific. 15-19-5. All the lower team vs them has to do is steal 1 game and they are in deep. If they lose Game 1 of a series with home ice, they are going to be under so much pressure too.

Terrible news! Hope its short term

I strongly suspect this is an injury where they are optimizing him for the playoffs, being careful not to let it become something bigger. With no brace, etc, seems like we are talking about soft tissue - bruising/soreness. I thought his hip got crunched at a weird angle and was sore. Maybe ribs.

Snuggerud’s arrival is convenient. I don’t expect him to be as good as Holloway, but his role on the team fits the whole and it’s a good time for him to get some important minutes. A little production there looks plausible, and helps to cultivate Snuggerud into a viable playoffs sub/alternate.

They won’t win the rest of the regular season games, but they’ll win enough points to get a WC spot. A healthy Holloway is important. The playoff chances look a lot better than just being a sacrificial lamb to the top seed.

Blues now control their destiny for the 1st WC spot. I wouldn’t say they should feel comfortably in a spot, not until it’s clinched. But all 5 teams would rather be in StLouis’ position right now.

We should maybe be tracking the Pacific bracket. It’s Vegas right now, but the Kings are 3 points back (4 really since they lose the tiebreaker) each with 5g left. Would much rather face the Kings. Kings host Edmonton and Vegas at Calgary tomorrow.

Every team of interest plays except Minnesota.

It feels like the winning streak has to end soon. Maybe it’s finally up tomorrow.

I really like Bostons choices

They were not good then decided let’s go be bad then, traded key guys, and now they’re 4th worst in the standings and last in the east, somehow below the Sabres.

Maybe they’ll be bad for another year or two but if the lottery balls call their name - it’ll all be worth it probably.

Wonder if pasta moves. He’s only 28. I don’t think you’d retain a guy like him for his good years if you’re chasing lottery picks.

Blue Pasta anyone?

Probably not worth the cost.
