2. Trade Leafs 1st round pick + whatever picks necessary to move up for Cullen Potter

3. Trade Kevin Korchinski + Colton Dach for Alexis Lafreniere

4. Trade Nolan Allan + Lukas Reichel for Isaac Howard

5. Sign Tanner Jeannot as a UFA

Decent plan.

I don't like Lardis on the top line.

If he can dominate the AHL like Nazar did he should get a call up. Maybe sign a UFA to play on the top line.

Team would be much improved but still bottom 5 next year. It still lacks top end scoring punch.
 
I’m extremely high on Lardis. But I think he should start in Rockford as well short of exploding preseason.

I do think he’ll dominate down there similar to Nazar, but coming off his injury, I don’t want to throw him into the fire immediately.

I'm just leaving the door open in case he dominates camp/preseason

If not, he starts in Rockford and you move everyone in my projection up a spot
 
I'll be mildly surprised if Chicago didn't trade torontos and their second to move up.

I don't foresee the rangers trading lafraniere.

I think Howard is easily fetching TB a first round pick. I think Allan and torontos pick
is the cost.

I'm unsure if Lardis is physically ready for pro hockey.

Horrible plan out side of possibly 1 and possibly 4 (Though I think Allan for him straight up is more than fair)

#2 and #3 are terrible asset management/trades for Hawks

#5 is laughable as he is f***ing worthless scrub who is barely a 4th line talent at this point yet you put him in top 9

Also Lardis is not NHL ready let alone a top line player
 
Yeah I like Cootes or Potter with the second first if we can move up.

I havent been keeping up with the Howard drama, didnt he want to be guaranteed a top 6?

#2 is just dreaming no doubt. I feel 99% sure Davidson is not trading up in this crappy ass draft.

#3 I wouldn’t include Dach in there. Maybe like Hayes or something. But a struggling wing like Laf is the most you’ll get out of Korchinski at this current moment. And the help for Bedard has to come from somewhere where we aren’t giving up Rinzel, Lev, Vlasic, 3OA etc.

Jeannot is fine on the fourth line, he’ll punch people in the face. Musto isn’t good at making lines.

How does a struggling Laf help Bedard?

Not to mention Hawks would be giving away Korchinski for him while taking on his very risky new contract which is 7 years at $7.45M

Giving up Korch for a guy who reverted back to a disappointment and now has a big contract start is not a risk Hawks should be taking

Why are we giving up on 20 year old Korchinski again?

Definitely draft Martone.

Move up into the 15-20 range and pick Malcolm Spence.

Trade Florida's 1st for Issac Howard

Stay away from Laf.

Trade for Jack Quinn. I think he needs a change of scenery.

I like parts of the plan (especially step 1)

Not a potter guy at all.

Not a huge Laf guy either.

Love the idea of Howard

I’d give your plan a B
 
What are examples of guys going from the OHL to top 6 on an NHL team?

I like Lardis the prospect but that doesn’t seem like a leap that would even be good for his development,

I'm not completely against taking a flyer on Lafreniere. He came along quite well in 2024 and then last year the Rangers were a mess and everyone had a down year. But 7 more years of $7.45 scares the sh*t out of me.

Ok then I would have appreciated it if you didn't cut off the part where I acknowledged his contract and how it scares me.
