We didn’t have this running game earlier in the season. Makes the QB position easier to play when you can run the ball like this
Thing is Mason is confident in the picket and he can throw the long ball and accurate to anywhere else. I don't feel that with the other two. The run game vs the Seahawks D is a good start. Wear them down.

Did not even try to push it downfield
Mikey play it safe on his shit.

The biggest takeaway I have from these games is that I genuinely do not understand why they felt Rudolph was not backup caliber. Is he just a bad locker room guy and doesn't have the personality you want out of a backup or something? He's not an amazing QB but he's completely effective.

I wonder if his horrendous 2019 play before he got benched just soured Tomlin on him permanently, or at least until now.

Think we'd save like $3m cutting Trubisky in the offseason. I'd be totally fine giving that to Mason in the form of a raise if he's going to be QB2 next year.

Typical. Never have both sides working at the same time.

And just not outstanding in any area, particularly involving attention to detail.

I mean, they can win this game, but there are so many flaws. And at 8-7 and pretty much even with the Steelers, the Seahawks are pretty much the same.

They're not going to move on from Pickett as QB1 this off-season, so I agree going with Pickett-Rudolph with Pickett on a fairly short leash is the best bet.

With that being said, I'm also all ears about finding a new QB1 entirely and pushing Pickett to the backup role he seems destined to end up at in the future.

That is probably the most wide open a steelers receiver has been in seriously maybe since Brown was still on the team, jesus.

Love the outcome, but the league needs to start banning the offensive pushing. This is rugby now.

I'm becoming more convinced that the issue with the offense is solely not having a QB who can go through progressions well. Those are both by far the biggest weaknesses with Trubisky and Pickett, while Rudolph is doing a noticeably good job at it in his 2 games so far.

I think Pickett's going to end up a great backup in the long run, but they really need to be willing to get a new QB1 if he doesn't show improvement with his pocket presence. That is pretty much the sole factor for whether Pickett ends up starting caliber or not IMO, I think the athleticism and arm is there.

I’m so happy Pickett isn’t playing, in spite of being healthy as Gerr reported. His stupid Pitt fanboy cult keeps crying and I’m enjoying the tears.

Agreed, and I don't even view Rudolph as a guy that excels beyond his first read. Its just accuracy and navigating the pocket better which allows him to get to his 2nd read. Kenny just bails at the first sign of pressure. Mason isn't fast enough to do that and is like required to keep his eyes downfield.
