OT: The Pittsburgher Thread: Post Draft - Still dont need no QB

What do you call not running routes, not blocking on run plays, showing up to games late? Dude's immature, selfish, and a bad teammate. I don't care if he was misused. You show up and play hard for your teammates. He didn't.

We'll see if someone else can get through to him. Based on past history, chances aren't great.

I think Dallas will sling the rock plenty enough to keep GP happy.

He isn’t the first wr to not block. I remember watching Keyshawn talk about how he wasn’t going to block if he didn’t get early targets. Dk has the same issue. Irvin stabbed someone so the cowboys will be ok with GP attitude.

Reactions: Honour Over Glory

What was SOS end up being for Pitt last year?

Hidden factor in this schedule is that that rarely play well at the Jets, rarely play well at Chicago, and rarely do well in LA.

For examples, our last game on the road vs each opponent:

2021 37-41 L @ LAC. Chargers put up 41 on Steelers D. Herbert was 30/41 for 382. 3TD. 1 INT. Also, 9 rushes for 90 yds.

2022. 20-27 L @ NYJ. Zach Wilson single-handedly outgained & outscored the Steelers, until garbage time from Pickett after Trubisky was benched.

2021 29-27 W @ Chicago. Needed a late FG for a last-second comeback win vs a Bears team that went 6-11 that year. Before that, I think Steelers had a decades long win drought in the Windy City.

The Aiyuk saga last summer and the Rodgers circus this off season should get tubby Khan fired. Dude has no idea what he’s doing.
if Art wants he can pull the plug on Rodgers today
Fields said again the reason he didn’t sign here was because he was benched even though Smith wanted him back.

Ryan Clark urges Mike Tomlin to leave Steelers: ‘His voice has run stale’

Former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark believes it is time for Mike Tomlin to step away from the team. Clark, who still believes Tomlin is ‘unfirable,’ says much like Andy Reid with the Philadelphia Eagles, Tomlin’s voice has gone stale in the locker room.

Clark says Tomlin should leave the organization and realize they will not win another Super Bowl together in his tenure. If he wants to find more success as an NFL head coach, Clark believes Tomlin will have to go elsewhere.

“I believe Mike Tomlin should coach in another organization,” Clark said. “Mike Tomlin should be the fresh voice somewhere else. I believe, as great as a coach as he is, and he’s a first-ballot Hall of Famer, I believe his voice has run stale there. I believe he’s allowed that team to reach the highest of heights they are going to reach unless they get a top-tier quarterback.”

The Steelers are in the midst of an eight year playoff win drought. Tomlin has been the overseer of the team in that time, and he has already entered some dangerous territory in regards to postseason success.

He has now lost six in a row in the postseason, which is a Steelers franchise record and the longest active streak in Tomlin’s tenure.

With that, Tomlin joins four other coaches in the pantheon of NFL history as coaches who have lost six or more straight playoff games in their career. Jim Mora, Marvin Lewis, Marty Schottenheimer, and Shane Owen are the only other coaches to reach that mark. Lewis holds the record with seven straight playoff losses.

While Tomlin brings great qualities to the table, the success has to turn around at some point. If Tomlin can not turn around his lack of postseason success, the answer is simple — he will not be around Pittsburgh much longer. He will be back next season and likely 2026, too, but even with the Steelers, patience is wearing thin with so many losses, and the same script is being run back year after year despite changes around Tomlin.

Yes he is in the same spot Haurbaugh was before Lamar showed up. You don’t have a Qb you’re going to struggle to win in the playoffs. Tomlin isn’t going to change who is they will go 10-7 and lose on the playoffs because they don’t have enough firepower on offense and the defense will be exhausted

Olave would be cool if that’s true, but considering the source…

Super talented but he’s had some serious concussion issues. If the Saints trade him, I don’t think the cost would be too bad.

Ohh man Olave was such a stud at OSU. But man those concussions do scare me.
He has 5 already and his own brother texted it wouldn’t be worth him risking future injury playing for the saints.
I don’t think the Steelers want to trade anything more than a 4th for a wr 2

Pre-brain mashed Olave? Sign me up instantly.

Right now? He's a 50/50 shot to make it through an entire season...probably less than that. He's not going to solve their WR2 issues barely being on the field.

This seems like a trade to just make a trade (Granlund). Dumb dumb dumb

Good for him. I like Purdy. Underdogs winning is good for everyone.
