Help me out. It says playoffs record without LeBeau 5-6. I only see 3 playoff wins from 2015 on. What am I missing?

I think they've only won 3 playoff games since LeBeau left, one in 2015, two in 2016. That said, it was becoming evident the game was passing LeBeau by.

The most damning stat is that in Tomlin's 18 seasons, he's only won at least one playoff game in 4 of them, those years being 2008, 2010, 2015, and 2016. He's either missed the playoffs or gone one-and-done in other years. No other head coach with that level of failure in the playoffs would not get fired.

But now the board says... he doesn't a have a QB (uh... The Killer B's... he even f***ed that up) Tomlin is a decent coach who just does nothing OUTSTANDING.

He's lost touch with modern Def/Off schemes. He's also been a head coach so long he has no in-roads /insight on new/upcoming coaches. (Look at the coaching tree from McVay...)

I suspect, we have had problems with talented offensive players because the scheme is from 1970s. Tomlin could have been inquisitive and learned like Saban did and completely upgrade his offensive scheme (in 2014) but he decided it's better to 9-7 and keep his job, it's much easier to be above average than great.

That said... Art/Khan will totally roll it back. :help:

Which is funny, because the same people making excuses for Tomlin about not having a franchise QB are mostly the same ones saying the playoff losing streak was all Ben's fault. Since 2018, the Steelers have gone through multiple QB's and multiple OC's, and we see the exact same failures year after year. There's just no way to come to any other conclusion besides the fact that Tomlin is the common denominator for all of it.

Any organization that doesn't sniff farts that are 50 years old would have fired him after the 2018 season.

Why are the Steelers and Penguins both going against what got them a championship in the first place? Therian fired, Bylsma wins. Johnston fired Sullivan wins. With Steelers its hiring a young and up and comer that gets them going and interested/relevant aka Ben Johnson. Why the dragging of the feet here? Where’s the urgency? At least the Pirates owner has to deal with no salary cap. Never thought I’d witness the best owner in Pittsburgh being in Baseball right now. Disappointing.

Because the team is far more depleted than those teams were.

The regular season records don’t add up correctly. You have 144 games for 8 seasons (2007-2014) which can’t be more than 128 games.

And then for the period of 2015-2024, which is 10 seasons, would be atleast 160 games. You have 131 games.

And his playoff record is 8-11. I think you need to readjust your spreadsheet or somethin. 😁

Until the Steelers get with the times and realize this is an offense first league, they’re going nowhere in a conference with Mahomes, Allen, and Jackson. Eventually those guys are gonna kill you.

Denver’s defense played pretty well but their offense just couldn’t do enough to keep things competitive.

I’m 100% convinced Dan Rooney would have fired Tomlin 2-3 years ago had he still been alive.

The media keep pounding the table how the Steelers don’t fire coaches, but it’s well known Dan told Noll it was time to retire.

So Noll was given a retirement with dignity, but if he refused to retire, Dan would have fired him.

And Noll was a legit legend, not some faux legend like Tomlin who won with Cowher’s team and hasn’t done anything noteworthy in 15 years.

Dan’s son is not his father - just living off his dad’s legacy and too terrified to make even what’s now become a very easy call.

I'm holding out hope that the next in line (Dan III) is the new perspective the org needs. Art II is around the age Dan was when he took a backseat running the org, so hopefully he's out sooner than later.

Thry do not have to fire him. Trade him to Chicago for a 2nd this year and 1st in 26 like Peyton got from Denver to the saints.
Hire Johnson or Cowhen as HC
Trade minka for a 1st no need to have 47 million against the cap next 2 seasons

I think the thing people forget about the killer B's years was the defense was mostly horrible because of needed to reload. So many of the old guard retired from 2012-2015 and they team started rebuilding the defense in 2014. And the rebuild was coming to fruition in 2017, but we all know what derailed that. So failing with the killer b's needs an asterisks because how they failed IMO.

lol…did anyone expect anything different?

“Despite a widespread public outcry and another embarrassing early exit from the postseason, the Steelers are not planning to make any move involving coach Mike Tomlin, according to team sources.”
Insanity. Rooney needs to go. Rather have Jerry Jones at this point. He’s done. Or dumb. Same thing.

Then what’s the plan? Oh I know. The standard is the standard. One and done again. And again. Until the Steelers move to Montana.
