I mean I don’t trust the Steelers to develop whatever QB they had selected so whatever…lol

There doesn't really need to be much development with Howard. His upside is pretty modest and he's already pretty refined now.

His upside is basically just a more mobile Mason. Maybe that could end up "stopgap starting QB" level but it's more likely "very good backup QB" level.

Also if Will Howard is a nothing pick, it really means nothing about the Steelers and their ability to develop QBs.

He’s a 6th round pick. If he can stay on the roster for a couple years, that would be a feather in the Steelers cap.

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but I'm sure Riley Leonard has been waiting for his name to be called his entire life, and having someone who sounds like that announce his name is kind of sad.

If you consider Metcalf as part of this draft class, which you really have to do, it's hard not to be reasonably happy with what they've done. I don't love where they are at QB, G, and slot CB, but not many gaping holes at this point.

Honestly the most impressive thing about this draft is that most of the guys the Steelers have picked were rated to go way before their pick. Obviously mock drafts don't mean everything, but Johnson and Sawyer were both mostly 2nd rounders and Howard was a 3rd/4th rounder. Black was a bit of reach where he was taken, but to come out of this draft with Harmon, Metcalf (essentially), Johnson, Sawyer, Black and Howard is really good value overall.

The Sanders family must have some really compromising pics of Mel Kiper, lol. Downright embarrassing from him this entire draft. It is not hard to figure out why he fell - He's not talented enough to overcome the potential circus that comes with being Deion's son. Combine that with his apparently disastrous pre-draft interviews, and it makes it awfully hard for a team to justify drafting you early. I mean what physical or mental traits does Sanders have that are better than Will Howard who was taken in the 6th round? It's not like Sanders had a hall of fame college career...

Loving the YaYA pick.......... bout time

Howard... I wanted McCord, but I think their is decent value and at least a chance of something there.
McCord can go pound salt, Howard is better. He knows how to win big games! Great run to the National Championship.

Yeah I think we'll rate highly in the "surplus draft EV" metrics in this draft, for whatever that's worth. Just like we did in 2022 lol. Maybe not PFF specifically.

It's kinda wild Bond hasn't been taken yet, I know there is that SA allegation but is there anything else that could be causing him to drop this far?
