Ravens are frustratingly good at the draft.
They are no doubt.

I'm not that upset about this pick however, even if he ends up being a great safety. At least when compared to having Linderbaum fall into their lap because of our own stupidity.

Safety isn't as important a position as others, and the Ravens usually have great secondary play regardless of the names on the roster, so how much can he really improve what they're used to putting out there every Sunday?

If they want to use a 1st round pick on that, I can think of worse (for the Steelers) options.

I like the Bleacher Report coverage. Micah Parsons rage at Eagles picks gives me life. Also apparently they know but can't say yet.

edit: Jihaad Campbell. Not who I expected. Also, given the whole "the Eagles do great because they spend on premium picks", that's pretty counter.

I dunno who Howie Roseman is about to take but whoever it is, he can't keep getting away with this
That was a weird trade with the Chiefs…probably trying to prevent them from trading their pick to someone else…

Too bad we don’t have a pick in the second round….some really good players still there…

“A player who can win in different ways, Harmon forces blockers to attack air with his lateral explosiveness or uses strong, crafty hands to swat away the reach of blockers as he bursts through gaps to close on the ball carrier. Though he led FBS interior linemen in pressures, he also led the position in missed tackles (12) — even the smallest improvements in his backfield finishing ability would have resulted in double-digit sacks. Overall, Harmon is a highly active and disruptive big man who consistently finds ways to gain freedom from blocks as a penetrating pass rusher and run stuffer. He projects as a scheme-diverse NFL starter, anywhere from one- to five-tech.”

Also

What an anonymous coach had to say about Harmon in Bruce Feldman’s mock draft:

“He was the best interior pass rusher we faced this year. He has great length and athleticism. We schemed a lot of things to make sure he didn’t get one-on-ones against us. He wasn’t as stout in the run game as (Mason) Graham.”

Some perverse part of me is almost sad he's the pick because I was enjoying the drama and there's none here. He's a prototype Steelers DL going in his consensus range at a time we needed DL. About the least controversial or nuanced pick possible.

Small point of interest - you clearly don't need Tomlin and Khan at your pro day to get drafted... at least if you play in the west you don't. We'll see if that applies for guys closer to home.

I'm not mad they didn’t pick Sanders. I personally think that would have been an epic disaster under Tomlin and how pathetic excuse of holding players accountable. Sanders and his Pops are just way too f***ing annoying as a duo to work in Pittsburgh the moment shit went sideways. You just know it’d turn into a massive distraction. I’m sure he’ll be fine now but he’s lucky he wasn’t taken by the Steelers, that would be a career ender for him before it begins.

He's the most Steelers kind of pick you could imagine. I wasn’t even shocked when I saw it, I just sat there and nodded my head like “yeah, that looks normal.”

I too am unfamiliar with the NFL cap workings, but I believe they can absorb his contract.

I just feel if they wanted Cousins, they would have gotten something done by now.
Seems like the Steelers have chosen this path:

1. Rodgers
2. If no Rodgers, then another FA QB plus late round flyer.
1. f*** Rodgers, I hope that douchebag retires instead.
2. Kirk Cousins sucks, no thanks.
3. They f***ed up by not keeping Fields.
4. I like Rudy but what the holy f*** was he thinking coming back to this shit show??

If they want Cousins, they’re better off just starting Rudy at this point. I don’t think it’d be any different. And Rodgers is the dumbest possible move these morons can make, yeah let’s sign a QB that’s a self serving douche that throws everyone under the bus and never takes accountability. That’s a volatile situation that is going to be a powder keg situation and it could really cause irreparable damage with a lot of players.

Yeah I am also glad they didn’t draft Pickett Jr.

You don’t pay a wr 30 million a year and have JF as your Qb.,
Cousins and Falcons giving up capital or Rodgers

I'm a fan of the pick. I think if they can develop him like Cam has developed, Harmon could be a special player. I hope he's better against the run than stats indicate, but that could be coachable. Can't teach his length, which is not just exceptional for this draft, but any draft I've ever seen.

Big fan of Tyleik Williams...but not in the 1st round. Shocked at some of the guys who are still sitting there, but I always am. Will Johnson still being available is wild. There has to be some major personality shit with him

Damn, the Rams got ATL’s 2026 1st
McVay wants to have a shot at another QB.

Wonder how far Milroe falls. I’d be adamantly against Howard/McCord in round 3 but if Milroe is sitting around I could be behind that.

Ok wow Falcons trade a future first to move up 20 picks?

I'd rather take Howard or McCord.

I did do a double take at the chargers picking Hampton after signing Najee. Kind of feel bad for him but also it just reaffirms that he wasn't the guy and the Steelers were right to move on.
The chargers coach loves running more than Tomlin plenty carries for both guys next season

Some people view this as a negative, but I see it the opposite way: that means he's getting chances, he's just not finishing.

Similar to hockey, I don't mind if players frequently get into scoring positions and misfire. That means they're doing everything right just before the shot.

I called this about a month ago: Steelers were going to take a DL. They draft for need in R1, never BPA.

I'd rather take Howard or McCord.

Johnson’s knee is apparently pretty messed up.
