I can only hope another team takes Sanders before the Steelers have to make a decision. He has some intangible traits people value, but he has to go to the right team/system/coaching staff to be successful, and the Steelers aren't that organization that can bring it out of him.I think I’m at the point where there’s very little doubt in my mind he’ll be available. There’s just some doubt they actually take him.
I’d be surprised if they don’t but even the people mocking him to the Steelers say they’re not convinced they’ll actually go that direction.
People, including the national media, are twisting themselves into a pretzel trying to justify the Steelers taking a QB at 21/1st round if the move down (yikes if they move up). This team has other needs. Harmon/DL would be my top choice, though you wonder about the medical situation he apparently has that has scared teams away. I can justify taking a CB/WR/S in the first round. I have no confidence this coaching staff can develop a QB unless he's a can't miss/even we can't bleep this up. I'm guessing (just a hunch; I haven't seen/heard it anywhere) that the only person in the front office who would want Sanders is Tomlin; he seems to go for the story/brand of a player; plus, he wanted Pickett, and how did that work out?. I don't want any QB until at least the 5th-6th round.
