If they’re dead set on a QB in the middle rounds and have to choose between Milroe and someone like Howard, give me Milroe.

I just don’t see the path to him being anything other than a wasted pick though. He needs to sit for at least a year, so it’s not like they’ll know what they have in him before next year’s draft. He’s a Hail Mary throw that would have made some sense in the latter stages of Ben’s career.
 
I would’ve much preferred to keep Fields if the alternative was Milroe. Wouldn’t have cost any additional assets and he’s simply better.

More Josina waffling but it sounds like we could be getting an answer today

Yeah, he is a decisively worse prospect than Fields was coming out. Not saying he doesn’t have the potential to have a better pro career than Fields, but it would likely be a contrarian take to expect that.

That's what I'm saying. If a good franchise has a bad season had has the top pick, he'll come out. If a bad franchise has the top pick, he'll stay in. I'm of the belief also that he stays until 27 unless there is a good situation in 26 for him.
 
I think the Milroe thing just represents an opportunity to keep working with someone with Field's skill set. We know they wanted to retain Fields and keep developing him. He just opted for the Jets instead.

The problem is Milroe is almost definitely not a NFL caliber QB right now, he's a guy that should only be a QB3 this year. Milroe should be a Skylar Thompson replacement if anything.

Because of Eli's famous power play with SD, most fans probably forget that Peyton went back to Tenn for another year so he wouldn't have to play for the Jets, who had the #1 in 97.

They had that big press conference to announce Manning was coming back for another year and Jets fans lost their minds.

Parcells was livid - still makes me laugh. Rumors were Archie thought Parcells was a "QB killer" and didn't want his son playing for him or the hard luck Jets.

Jets traded their first to the Rams, who took Pace, and then I forget their other trade - but they eventually had like the 8th or 9th overall and took Farrior - which worked out for the Steelers.

I'm like 99.9% sure Archie will have a great influence on Arch never playing for the Jets or Browns.

Ok, I hear you.

It will be interesting to see how the Mannings orchestrate things, but I suspect they will stick with getting him as many college starts as possible.

Can't have him staining the Manning legacy - no pressure kid.

I think Arch is going to be great. I actually enjoy watching him. He has a Brady calm/cocky confidence. This is going to be a huge year for him
 
The funniest outcome would be for every team to realize that a 42-year-old isn't worth waiting around for, everyone move on, Rodgers left without an offer even though he clearly wants to play, and be forced to retire to try and save face.

Thanks. I watched some of it. I always struggle with these prospect videos as

a) I don't watch enough college tape to really compare it
b) How do I know that what they're pulling is representative? QB School breaks down a game then, yeah, sure representative of the game. 45 minutes to cover years... got to trust the guy, and how do I know to?

That said, some of it was convincing.

Something that really worries me with Sanders is those epic sacks. Despite Daniels' success (and haven since seen stats suggesting elements of Daniels' getting sacked a lot were overblown), I still look a lot for how guys deal with pressure as a good barometer for working in the pros as staying alive and moving on those pressure downs are make and break. Sanders is a pretty worrying dude there. It's one thing to be a Burrow-esque guy who takes a lot of sacks (for their pressures) because they're trying to find a throw until the last minute and don't want to risk a pick, but running back twenty yards? Dude has to recognise he is not that guy.
