WR isn't really deep. I could see all of the WR prospects outside of McMillan dropping to the 2nd round if things fall the right way. There are a lot of good prospects in this draft and they can all be anywhere from 15-50. Just depends on the team.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me what Tomlin does well outside of his press conferences.

People say "he's great with the players". Well why is there in-fighting or people doing/saying weird shit in the media or among teammates year after year?

Tomlin has the biggest grift going next to Mike Sullivan.

No one has a better grift than Tomlin.

At least Sullivan has done something in the last decade.

But it’s not how Tomlin wants to play football. He let Ben throw it all over under Hayley. When you have backup level Qbs you’re limited.

How many times do I have to point out the fact that Tomlin had a HOF QB and for a decade won three playoff games - two against backup QBs and one agt Alex Smith.

Roth was on a historical playoff pace until Cowher’s tree was gone.

Once Tomlin started hiring OCs, Roth’s playoff career nose dived.

Roth hated Haley’s offense and was vocal AF about it. Canada and Fichtner - lol.

It’s not a coincidence Roth was never the same QB again in the playoffs with the jokes Tomlin hired.

Just like it’s not a coincidence none of Tomlin’s OC’s have ever found work in the NFL again, save a half season stint in Cleveland before Haley got the boot.

They don’t invest top 2 picks in the secondary we have drafted more wr than dbs. It’s why they are probably spending 20 million this offseason on a NB and cb2
He's had 18 years of drafting, name all of is his great drafting and developing in the secondary outside of William Gay? This was his supposed area of expertise, he should be finding diamonds in the rough nearly every season. But nope... nearly next to nothing. The rest of defense outside of the first round and his first draft has been a disaster. HE CAN'T draft and develop his side of the ball.

If I get time later, I'll list all of his defensive draft picks.............prepare to puke

Jeremiah only has 5 WR in his top 50, and one of those guys probably won't be a full time WR.

2. Travis Hunter* CB/WR
14. McMillan
22. Golden
23. Egbuka
33. Burden

2019 only had 3 WR go in the top 50 (Hollywood, NKeal Harry🤢, Deebo Samuel) but then a bunch of mid to late round picks panned out (AJB, DK Metcalf, Diontae, Terry McLaurin).

I think a few guys that test really well at the combine/pro days could rise up into the top 50, it happens almost every year. Maybe Isaiah Bond or Tre Harris from Ole Miss.

from his 1st draft til JPJ they drafted 10 dbs in the top 4 rounds

And outside of Mcmillian none of them are outside wr. Burden ran like 3 routes in college and Golden has some DJ like drops

You think Tomlin does well at press conferences?

Based on what Khan said, I'd be expecting a DL in round 1 or 2 and either a CB or a RB with the other pick. I'm super curious if Khan does something crazy dumb like drafting a RB in round 1.

As do I, especially given the depth of this RB class. But it's obvious that this team wants to pound the rock and it's definitely possible he could be best player available when we pick.
You can get a Williams or Irvin in round 4. I still think they sign a rb in free agency or bring Najaee back because thats cheaper than a free agent DB or DL. Draft the expensive free agent types

I’ve kind of come around on Jeanty in the first, especially if they’re able to address some other areas in FA. Although I doubt he lasts until the Steelers pick. They just desperately need talent and big play ability on offense and Jeanty has an argument for the best offensive player in the draft.

Call me crazy, but I don't think secondary is his expertise. Even though he was a secondary coach. Tomlin played WR in high school and college. I think he is good talking about what receivers do but because he didn't play the defensive back position he isn't good at developing it.

But his experience is why he is good at selecting WRs.

If it's anything like past drafts, Jeanty isn't there.

But I think only four of the teams formally interviewing him are ahead of the Steelers' pick, and it feels insane to think the Giants would take him at 3OA so that goes down to three. At which point... maybe?

Yeah and that's ultimately why it makes sense. This team is a run focused team and they want the best possible RB they can get to execute that game plan. Even though I strongly disagree with the concept, it's hard to say that I don't understand it.

I don't think Jeanty makes it to them as well. Mostly because I can see a team jumping ahead of the Steelers to take him if he isn't taken by one of the myriad of teams ahead of them that could use a player like Jeanty.

A couple surprise teams on that list. Colts already have a #1 back in Taylor. And the Saints have Kamara, he is 30 this summer but he is signed to a big contract.

Feels like Dallas will take him. But if he slips by them, I can see any one of Cincinnati or Denver taking him. And I can see the Chargers trading up for him.

My issue is, is Jeanty really that much better than Hampton, Henderson, Johnson, Judkins?

It's also possible that other teams see the depth at RB in this class and have the same mindset, wanting to attack the position on day 2, thus pushing Jeanty down to 21. Still not betting on that but it's a possibility.

I think the only reason he could possibly last would be the reason people wouldn’t be happy if he’s the pick. It’s a non premium position in a draft with a lot of good depth.

I didn’t look at the whole list of who interviewed him, but the Raiders, Cowboys, and Broncos seem like some realistic landing spots. 6 seems kind of rich but it’s kind of a shitty draft for high end talent so we may see some weird stuff happen.
