Some of the starters on the 05 team were in the system because they were drafted in 01-04 it wasn’t a bunch of rookies. Fanaca himself said they were a win now championship team when Ben was drafted
They were a SB roster BECAUSE they just drafted a future HOF QB.
The kind of QB that could go on the road in the playoffs, into Manning’s house and beat the best team Manning ever had.
I see no reason to pull out the terrible towels or any other thoughts towards the team if they bring back Wilson or Fields. Not that there's any available better option in FA or the draft where they pick 21. They are stuck in the twilight zone, and that's not even bring up the coach. Their needs are vast and strangled.

It’s not a fwd thinking org under AR2. He accidentally admitted they only look one year at a time which is foolish as hell.
They are going nowhere next season.
If AR2 lived in reality he would understand they need a true rebuild.
He should have been all aboard trading Tomlin, Fitz, Watt, Pickens and even Heyward.
But like the Pens, they will sadly spin their wheels and waste years with their heads stuck in the sand.

Way too late though for Crosby - if they had rebuilt 4-5 yrs ago he’d likely be in a position to at least compete for another cup.
Sad how both org didn’t learn from history and the importance of not chasing mediocrity.
