Yeah and I’m not opposed to double dipping at WR but I’d like to see them go after an established guy and not rely on a rookie to solve the problem. Someone like Metcalf or Higgins.

But if you look at the offense:

QB: Wilson
RB: Draft/Warren
WR: Pickens, Vet, Austin, Wilson, rookie/whoever
LT: Fautanu/Jones
LG: Seumalo
C: Frazier
RG: McCormick/FA
RT: Jones

Yup not seeing a ton of changes happening there and certainly not enough spots to justify spending every resource they have on offense.
Heck i could see them trading Issac and talk to Daniels about a new contract slide Mccmorick to lg and draft another o line depth guy.
However yeah outside of 25 million dollar FA wr you’re not going to spend on offense
Defense you can actually cut larry and get a better younger DL guy plus draft a guy. Sign a real nb and DJ as cb 2 draft a cb to pumb Pierre ofd the roster
Draft a te to help to get Pruitt and Heyward off the roster

"His defenders will tell you the Steelers have actually overachieved this year, that Tomlin’s brilliance is why we should be extremely proud of the 10 wins the Steelers have and no other coach in the NFL could have pulled off what he did. Of course, those same defenders three weeks ago were proclaiming the Steelers the best team in the AFC and the most dangerous team in the playoff field."

This is the truest of truths in this article.

We can wait and see on where this team is because he has time to rescue some stuff but right now, the repetition of previous seasons' problems is tough to take.

I mean most of the people had Tomlin pegged ... 3-4-5 years ago.

I haven't watched more that a few quarters and this is exactly the same team as it has been from Ben to whomever.

No Strategy, all emotions, and it shows vs. any tactical coach. He gets his a$$ handed to him. That article is spot on but he'll dodge a bullet somehow. It's exactly the same with Sullivan and the Pens.

DK has also opined that it’s him. If true, playing Sutton over Bishop is inexcusable but the most Tomlin thing ever.

Yeah Chuck Pagino former colts coach said the same about sutton over bishop. He said Sutton is way to flat footed and can’t run. He also said he doesn’t want to see 42 ever again or 26 try to play m2m

This team IS strong when it's healthy. I don't think there is anything wrong in saying that. The issue is TJ gets banged up and the defense is toast, Pickens is out and the offense is anemic. It can't be that way.

I have thought to myself that Beanie needed more snaps. He is a starter. Totally makes sense if it's Sutton.

I'm just getting caught up with football stuff. Pickens needs to go this offseason. I missed him completely giving up running a route in the Chiefs game.

Broderick Jones graded out as high as he ever has against the Chiefs. Like...dominant performance. He has been getting much better the last 3 or 4 weeks, and I'm wondering if he is turning a corner. It would really help the cause, because I think Dan Moore absolutely lands us a 3rd with what he will sign for this offseason.

Dan Moore is actually a great story. He's grading out as a top 20 tackle this season. He was thrown to the fire far too early (just like Kendrick Green). If they gave Moore someone to sit behind, I think he could be much better.

An argument could have been made that the kc db jammed him and it had no baring on the play. Teams know RW can’t beat them backside and Reed said he wasn’t worried about GP pre snap
RW decided regardless of coverage he was throwing in double coverage to Muth instead of looking to the 2 on 1 on the right side with a wide open VJ

Cincy looking like they're going to beat Denver after Nix threw a pick late. Winning Week 18 going to be the difference between playing Houston or Baltimore.

Edit: Mims late td tie game

I think there's a plan in terms of the style of play the team wants.

Where my doubts come up is there seems to be a prevarication on whether they're going for it or building for the future. Take the Aiyuk pursuit. That feels very win now. But it felt kind of half-hearted. Lowball offer to the 49ers, lowball offer to Aiyuk (per Breer - that's the bit that really shook me). Or the Wilson move, which was very much sold as win now, got to see if there's a window there.

We'll see how it plays out this off-season.

There are some real questions about the coaching too.
I think they are always trying to "win now", but the moves they are making are setting them up for the future like Jones (assuming he improves), Fantanu, Benton, Frazier, etc. Those are the type of guys should be here the next 10+ years.

Wilson, Fields, even Queen given his team friendly deal....those are "fell into their lap" type of deals IMO. I think lowballing Aiyuk was, too. If you can get a guy that good for that cheap, take it. He'll probably be good for 5+ years so he'll still be here for their "window". They didn't, so OK. I think that's why they probably didn't get Adams, Krupp, etc., too, because they were lowballing. I think that's fine. Those ARE "win now" moves given their age. I don't think the Steelers are quite there yet to give up enough to make those deals.

I'm pretty indifferent on Harris, but that was clearly a win now move. I don't really see any of the moves Khan has made as that type of deal with the exception of maybe JPJ given how short CB careers are. Even then though, some people had the Steelers taking him with their 17th OV (roughly I forget exactly where they were picking) and they got him at 32. So that could even be a "fell into their lap" type of move .

I think the next 2-3 years are "win now", though, with Watt, Heyward, Fitz, etc. getting up there. Resign Wilson. Sign Higgins and/or draft a WR in the 1st. Get Fantanu back. Maybe resign Daniels. Maybe Roman Wilson will make an impact. Jones, Frazier, Benton, etc. getting another year of experience. I think it's all there except.....

....I don't know that the coaching is.

Cincy really blowing this…I don’t think it matters for next Week since they’ll want to beat the Steelers badly anyway and will

I think the Bengals winning means there's no way they can play Buffalo iirc.
Correct we are locked into to no worse than 6 even with a loss to Cincinnati because we beat the broncos h2h
A win or a Charger loss to Vegas has us at 5 unless Cleveland beats bmore.
We are playing Houston or Chargers in the 1st round of the playoffs

That defense gave KP and Mason career highs ik passing and RW had 400 not worried about Cincinnati

Houston or Baltimore.

Chargers are going to win next week. They play LV who is dreadful and has no desire to win.

Baltimore is going to win because they play the Browns who have no desire to win because they are starting DTR.

Thus, if the Steelers win, they will play Houston. If the Steelers lose they will play Baltimore.

Vegas already beat Jacksonville and it cost them a top 5 pick Pierce is coaching for his job

Still not sold on Nix being good... he's a "gamer" but the accuracy just isn't good enough

He never seems to actually set his feet. Even when he throws from the pocket, he somehow does it on the move.

Sean Payton may be an ass but he’s proven to be able to get good production out of mediocre QBs.
