Another Mike Tomlin masterclass. Can honestly say I've never seen a team decline a holding penalty to keep it 2nd and 20.

Punting down 14 on the 50 yard line? Yep. Typical.

Running your 3rd string RB down 14?, yep expect it.

Tomlin made too many egregious mistakes to even list today.

How can we expect this genius to do in our playoff game?

The eagles have the better team, but the poor coaching decisions compounded the problem
Games like this just reinforce, that the Steelers cannot win a championship until Tomlin is gone

A better coached team that used more misdirection against an aggressive Eagles D and threw more on early downs EARLY in the game would have made it a very close game. Oh, and also using Warren instead of Cordarelle and Najee. Guess we are saving him for another game...

Needed Russ to be on the move instead of sitting back in a hoped-for pocket also.

Warren doesn’t change the game throwing early to who
The eagles have 2 wr in smith and brown we don’t have any one on their level without GP.
Yesterday was the first time in 9 games Hurts had to throw more than 20 times because they shutdown the running game of Philly
DJ is barely a serviceable cb 2 and he was struggling before getting hurt. They literally threw right at Roberts

It probably wouldn't have hurt to use Fields more also. When Pickens isn't in, we need someone who can pop off a big play, and just getting the defense off balanced would have helped.

That game was totally winable, but without any playmakers...it was futile.

I figured he was in concussion protocol after being wobbly

Tomlin has said Fields had an abdominal injury after that hit.

Also, re that hit, I hope the rule makers go to work on slides, because Justin Fields thinking he can slide when he's about 2, 2.5 yards away from the guy is just an invitation to injury. The rules shouldn't be telling him it's a good idea. He's a lot safer stepping the guy and accepting a hip tackle there, or even just running shoulder first into the dude.

I think there needs to be more onus on the player sliding.
If you want to "give yourself up" then you slide TOWARDS the sideline.

If you start your slide towards the goaline, then the onus should be on the runner. I'm tired of these BS roughing when the QB slides at the last minute

It's a team game that was a tale of 2 halves.

Defense started out well- got 2 turnovers that the offense converted to like 10 yards total.
Then they collapsed from exhaustion in the 2nd half bc the offense couldn't provide the cushion.

The defence was on the field for 14:48 in the first half, with most of the time loaded towards the first quarter, thanks to a six and a half minute drive by the Steelers. The defence has zero excuses for exhaustion going into the second half.

Then the Eagles open up the second half with a 7 minute drive in which they escape a 2 and 20 on the 7th play. If the defence want to be off the field to rest their legs, then they can't let that happen. That is the moment they need to be able to save themselves. And it didn't happen.

Then, yeah, the plan isn't for Harris to fumble and put the defence back on after 2 minutes. But I'm not expecting the defence to be dead on its feet after playing, what, 22 minutes about 10 minutes into the 3rd. But instead it's another 6 minutes and a touchdown.

I guess it's fair to say maybe they're pretty tired by the time of that last backbreaking drive where the Eagles just go for 10 minutes. And maybe pretty demoralised.

But the defence had their chance to keep time of possession less lopsided and didn't take it, and they're meant to be the side of the ball that rescues the day.

In college they are teaching guys to dive instead of slide. Brady has been saying Qbs slide late looking for the penalty needs to go.

I'm also going to add that Williams getting the 3rd most snaps out of WRs, way behind Jefferson and Austin, raises some questions as to what the hell is going on there.

Yeah, I do not at all understand why Williams isn't being throw to and why we have totally forgotten about Roman Wilson until someone asked the question the other day of where the hell he is.

If your offense is so difficult to understand that if a WR is hurt for the first 3 weeks they are done for the season, maybe we should make it a bit easier or draft smarter people.

Besides Williams being washed

Wilson hurt and isn’t going to play this season like ca3 rookie season being washed out by injuries

Feels right. I bet they have limited weapons particularly without Pickens but being so predictable and vanilla and conservative made no sense.

Philly attempted 33 passes 22 went to smith and Brown we didn’t have a wr close to either on the field yesterday

Allar back to school. Think it’s such a great decision for his development.

Was pretty sour on his NFL outlook until the last month of the season…

Further growth and I would not mind a trade up for him in the late lottery in 2026.

Wilson is another guy where I'd like to hear the full story. It sounds like he took a long, long, long time to be back to 100% after his injury - and then promptly got injured again, so they soft shut him down because he'd barely spent any time in practice - but I do wonder if that's the whole truth.

You literally spent the entire offseason saying the Steelers WR were fine and they didn’t need to add anyone. Now in order to defend Tomlin you’re flip flopping to “but the WR suck so stop blaming Mike!!!” Your idol isn’t infallible man. You can have nuance. The offensive game plan sucked yesterday.

No said i wanted Aiyuk and i didn’t want to trade DJ
I said they could win a playoff game with the wr core as is but nothing more. Now I want them to sign Higgins in free agency

Don’t make me dig up all the posts about Jefferson and Watkins and every other jobber they signed being fine and they’d just throw more to Pickens and Friermuth.

Yeah that’s a great move for him. Enter the draft this year and be a mid round pick or make a couple million to stay in college and potentially be a first rounder. Feels like we’re gonna see more and more of this kind of decision now.

Yeah like at worst I think he’d go as late as Rudolph did. Why not wait a year?

Even if he’s not great next year can see him getting into RD1.
