Yeah this game blew. The defense just couldn’t make a stop in the second half and the offense was even worse than I expected it to be without Pickens.

I mean, that’s how the game has played out. But that’s not Mikey’s plan. We’ve complained all year that his plan on offense is to possess the ball. No one likes it. But today, when it didn’t work, we complain that they don’t do it. It’s not that they didn’t, it’s that they couldn’t. Philly is a better team by about the amount we’ve seen in this game.

Personally part of why I complain about the plan to possess the ball is because come the big moments, they can't make it work.

Not to mention that I believe a very well paid, star studded defence should still be able to be counted on in moments when the plan doesn't work. If they can't, then the investment is clearly in the wrong place.

I mean we had a chance to tie the game before that Najee fumble, but it felt like that really broke our back. Eagles proceed to burn like 17 mins of possession on the next 2 TD drives and then it was game over GG.

Oh well, we clinched. Yay

This is still a good team, but I just don’t think it’s ever been a real contender. The defense isn’t as elite as it needs to be and the offense I think has benefited from playing some really shitty defenses lately.

First off, fingers crossed for Watt's ankle.

Second off, that's most of the fears about the team's weak spots come home to roost.

And third, most likely they have to win out from here, or they get to play a similar team to the Eagles and see whether they can fix their problems in a month.

Yeah, there's some bright points from today. Watt making a case for DPoY. Holding one of the league's best rushing teams to not a whole lot. I thought Austin had a good day. But overall, that Eagles team - which aren't that good a team for their record, but you know, no joke - represent the standard for a team that wants to make noise in this league.

The Steelers didn't meet it.

p.s. Please let Watt's ankle be good.

On a positive note I liked that the Steelers got their pound of flesh the eagles will be hurting after this game. I lost track of how many of their starters had to leave the game at some point. I get the impression the Steelers are not fun to play against.

Oh I love ball possession and physicality. Certainly not me complaining. I don’t need to be Buffalo and score 40 at will. I want to be what Philly is. I’m complaining that Mikey says he doesn’t live in his fears but he won’t go for 4th and 7 when we desperately need a td and the defense desperately needs a break. And we end up not getting the ball back for the last 10 minutes because… as mentioned they were gassed. He has zero feel for the game - 20 years into his tenure.

You’re not wrong. I have the same beef. But we can’t sit here Friday and say “Tomlin doesn’t get it because the defense was out there all game.”

The defense sucks outside of Watt and Heyward.

There's talent but the scheme is paper soft and many players underachieve (Porter, Queen, Minkah the non-factor etc.)

Some of the conversions and missed tackles were laughable.

Somehow in a game where the offense had 0 yards through the first 25 minutes or whatever the defense exposed itself more.

I was kind of disappointed in todays game. Really frustrating watching the beginning of the game. Pinckett being out takes that long game away. The game plan was meh. Philly has a great offensive line. Kind of pissed that they get Brown and Barkley. WTF. Too much time for Hurts.

This season just feels like it is going to be another Tomlin special, late season collapse. Everything points to them dropping the next 2 of 3 and get blown out by KC or Buffalo in round 1.
Maholmes got hurt could see the Christmas game becoming a scrimmage game
